RELEASED: "Star Trek: The Motion Picture (Special Longer Version)"
Time

the theatrical cut of Star Trek TMP will be released in Blu-Ray next Year.

source: www.thedigitalbits.com

Also, watch for a Blu-ray Disc box set of all of The Original Series-based Star Trek feature films, including Star Trek: The Motion Picture (the theatrical cut, NOT the director's cut, as all the extended cut CG effects were produced in 480p and would have to be redone for HD release), Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, Star Trek III: The Search for Spock, Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home, Star Trek V: The Final Frontier and Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country. [Editor's Note: We mistakenly mentioned Generations instead of Trek VI in the original post. The box will be films I-VI. No Generations. The TNG films will come later. Just FYI.] This is obviously timed to promote J.J. Abrams' forthcoming Star Trek reboot, due next May

I don't remember if this was on any of the featurettes, but I remember a few years ago when someone was auctioning off a remake of a B&W ED2 poster that was made to promote the financing of the film in Variety magazine. The subtitle states "Evil Dead and the Army of Darkness" and the auctioneer mentions that Raimi was planning to make ED2 set in the past like AOD became. Anyway, I have a small image of that poster, that probably is too low res. for the DVD, but I can send you if you like.

in a french magazine I have from the 80s, they published storyboards of the ED2 you are taking about, like AOD became. I can scan them if someone wants them?

There are 2 DVDs I have now--all featuring John Carpenter interviews. There's the EFNY featurette from the VHS and Laserdisc, a They Live Japanese-subtitled featurette, a 1/2 hour "City Lights" program on Big Trouble in Little China, a 1/2 hr program (I believe the Rona Barret show) interview with Carpenter, Romero and Jeannot Swarc, and a bunch of other stuff. I can send these to someone who has the ability to rip what they want relating to the Plissken Files, or this can just morph into a John Carpenter Files project. I'd say all the stuff I have totals about 4 hrs.

With all the material you have, I will be able to finish the Snake plissken files dvd; I sent you an PM
