That’s very tempting actually. Could cut the movie down some! I’ll take a look at it…

FAN EDIT FANS… ARE WE OK FOR A 4 HOUR FILM?? OR IS IT TOO LONG? I was really hoping to get this at 3 hours but it’s becoming increasingly difficult to chop things out!

The good news is that I gave a good watch through today and boyyyyy does this make it ANDOR’s film!! I’d hate to cut more out of it buttttt also, don’t want it to be too long to digest.

At the moment… The action and the way the film flows is natural and allows a good transition into each major event, whilst allowing each event to have it’s own build up and epic delivery.

Let me know about the length and I’ll see if I can get it down some more if it’s a bit off-putting.

Details about my Edit:

A reimagined retelling of Andor Season One.

My edit condenses the acclaimed series into a tightly-paced, under-three-hour feature film — but this is far more than just a shortened version of the show. The Spark of the Rebellion presents a bold new outlook on the Andor story, restructuring key events to create a different emotional and narrative journey.

Opening with the gripping Narkina 5 prison break, the edit wastes no time diving into the fire. Cassian Andor escapes Imperial captivity and kills two guards while on the run—cementing his transformation into a man with nothing left to lose.

Andor returns to Ferrix, where his identity is revealed. As the Empire moves in, he narrowly escapes the Security Bureau’s grasp and joins the Aldhani operation. Andor realises that credits will allow him to disappear once and for all and in doing so, pulling off a high-stakes heist will shake the foundations of Imperial control.

But rebellion comes at a price. The death of his mother pulls Andor back to Ferrix once more—into the heart of a trap laid by the ISB and shadowed by the ever-watchful Luthen Rael. With the eyes of the Empire upon him and sparks of rebellion beginning to burn, Andor must decide who he truly is and what he’s willing to fight for.

My edit reframes Andor with a sharper, cinematic arc—emphasising momentum, tension, and Cassian’s journey from survivor to revolutionary.

I think it’s ideal for both newcomers and die-hard fans looking to experience a powerful new version of the story that ignited the spark.

OPENING CRAWL:

"The galaxy is on the brink of chaos.

Worlds are feeling the weight of Imperial control,
as most submit to the ongoing oppression.
As the iron grip of the EMPIRE tightens,
whispers of defiance echo across the stars.

Notable Changes:

  • Runtime condensed to under 3 hours while preserving the core emotional and narrative arcs.

  • Film opens with the Narkina 5 prison escape — reframing the story with immediate urgency and action.

  • Flashbacks to Andor’s childhood on Kenari are interwoven with the prison escape, creating a deeper emotional backdrop and tying his past to his present transformation.

  • After the prison break, Andor kills two guards while on the run, reinforcing the darker edge of his survival instinct.

  • Return to Ferrix, where his identity is exposed and the Empire begins closing in.

  • Maarva Andor’s death occurs directly after the Aldhani mission, creating an emotional low point and triggering Cassian’s return.

  • Final act takes place in Ferrix, where Cassian is now being pursued by the ISB, Luthen Rael, and Imperial forces, all converging as tensions explode.

  • Re-structured story arc for a more cinematic three-act structure, enhancing momentum and character development.

  • Not simply a condensed version — this is a bold reimagining of the Andor story with a new emotional and thematic rhythm.

The time for peace is over. Once again, evil has risen in the galaxy. The First Order has plunged the unprepared New Republic into disarray.

KYLO REN, a former student of Master Luke Skywalker, has succumbed to the dark side and obliterated the New Jedi Academy. In the aftermath, Luke has vanished into the unknown regions.

REY, the sole survivor of the academy massacre and the last beacon of hope for the Resistance, has surrendered in a bid to bring her former friend Kylo Ren back to the light.

The Resistance is racing to General Leia Organa’s position on the planet Crait, but they are being pursued by the sinister Supreme Leader Snoke, who desperately seeks the location of the last Jedi…
