The Prequel Radical Redux Ideas Thread

It’s played constantly and it sounds so bored with itself.

That’s not even a theme. It’s just musical noise, an apt description for the entire soundtrack of that film (not that there aren’t a few standouts).

I much prefer the music that plays during Dooku’s entrance in ROTS (though it was mixed so low it was practically nonexistent):

That’s no better.

So glad that this minor mystery that she, by her actions, made peace with in TFA is now her central character flaw.

Why would something she’s come to terms with become a flaw? If anything, it would eliminate a flaw.

Ric Olié was a human male starship pilot who served in the Royal Naboo Security Forces. He was the commander of the Naboo Royal Space Fighter Corps, and the leader of Bravo Flight. Olié's talents also landed him the job of the Queen's personal pilot, often flying the Naboo Royal Starship in the service of Padmé Amidala. Due to Naboo's pacifistic nature, Olié's skills were rarely in use, although he saw military action during the Invasion of Naboo.

I take it the remark I was responding to was sarcastic.

The most desolate hole in the galaxy being very important would be ironic and funny.

I that’s cancelled out by how many times we’ve gone back to Tatooine by now.

The Prequel Radical Redux Ideas Thread
Time

On the Sequel Radical Redux thread, I suggested replacing the Falcon with a new ship, but what if you did the reverse, and replaced Padme’s ships with the Falcon. They all have differently shaped exteriors, but the interior is always the same, so that room could be a Lando-esque front attachment. Just redecorate it slightly to look more like the Falcon. Its look in Solo would actually suit the Prequels quite well, all clean and white, so you could add some shots of those hallways with relevant characters added in.

At the end of the day, I just find it awkward having the Falcon in two out of three trilogies. It’s not quite a one-trilogy thing, but it’s not quite a universal thing. On similar note, Chewbacca is missing from Episodes I-II…eh, whatever. Not like he’d be relevant. I do really want to keep R2 and 3PO in every movie, but as it stands, I’m removing the latter from Episodes I-II, as I don’t like the roles he’s given, and he doesn’t even have his iconic look yet anyways. I’ll see if I can add him in other minor roles in those films.

Star Wars saga - Extra Extended Edition (1080p) (* unfinished project / WIP *)
Time

I have begun a frame-by-frame restoration of the scene with Luke and Biggs outside the Tosche Station. I’m doing 4 frames a day, and there are 4584 frames, minus the first two, which I’m skipping due to their extremely poor condition, so it should take me 1145 days, or 3 years and a bit. It’s a heart-pounding race between that and finishing Classic Doctor Who.

The Lost 20 is one of the deleted scenes I want restored the most. It provides some backstory on Count Dooku, a character who, as it stands, sorta comes out of nowhere. The problem with restoring it is less how unfinished it is, and more the fact that it feeds straight into another scene with the same characters and location, but large technical differences. Yeah, you can tell the CGI is not finished, but it looks alright, and the characters, being live-action are fine. No, the problem is mainly getting the audio and video to perfectly match the following scene. The background, the lighting, and the voices are all currently too different.

(READ DESCRIPTION) Nightmare Fuel Non-Horror Movie Scenes
Time

I don’t know if it was meant to be scary but the faceless people in the Doctor episode The Idiot’s Lantern were pretty unsettling as a kid. They’re probably the thing that cemented my idea for a long time that Doctor Who was some scary adult show on the level of Black Mirror. I also was reminded of it every time I saw the faceless heads of the stormtroopers in the Lego Imperial Star Destroyer I had.

When I last posted here, I ranted about the godawful film The Rider. Yesterday, in the same film studies class I saw The Rider, we watched another film…and it was amazing! It’s called Infernal Affairs. Apparently there’s some sequels, so I guess I’ll check those out sometime, although I can’t imagine anywhere else to take the story after the way it ended.
