Episode II: Attack of the Ridiculousness ***NEW 14 MONTH ANNIVERSARY DVD NOW AVAILABLE***

If Yoda could say "moo cow", that might fit the lip movement better.

Perhaps an anguished cry of "moo!" off camera before we actually see it?

I didn't notice a lip sync issue, I'll have to look at it again.  Combining sounds to make a word is always dicey, so I try not to do it unless necessary.

And believe it or not, I always planned to put a moo or two in, but forgot to do it when working on the clip.  But it hadn't occurred to me that I could do it off-camera when it first gets shot.

There's a 'Chorus' audio effect in certain versions of Vegas that may help.

You could sync up Yoda's jumps in the lightsaber fight with Dooku to the "Jump Around's" in the refrain, and even cut away to the Yoda dance easter egg from the ROTS DVD for a music video feel. : P

P.S.: I've watched The Ridiculous Menace and really enjoyed it, but I keep putting off a written review. I'll write it up soon. Keep up the good work, TV's Frink!

The Prequel Radical Redux Ideas Thread
Time

I've heard mention numerous times in Prequel threads and in Red Letter Media's Attack of the Clones review that Anakin should have been the mature, responsible one in the Padme/Anakin romance, truly concerned about the repercussions as a well-meaning young Jedi. And Padme should be the Senator whose whole life has revolved around politics and plotting, making her wish to settle down.

Well, I attempted to re-edit the fireplace scene to reflect these desired attributes. While the edit wasn't a success, it is still very amusing, especially one of Padme's lines (you'll know which).

So here's a chuckle:

btw AE, you're not planning a v2 of your edit, are you?  Just want to be sure.

I'm thinking about a full DVD release with some of the deleted scenes I worked on, a commentary discussing the edit, and menus. I've got a lot to say about the cuts made, which is why the cutlist on Fanedit.org functions more as a text commentary with paragraphs describing the cuts and themes.

If this fuller release comes to fruition, I definitely have two very small nitpicks to change:

-Anakin's "Point-of-View the Jedi" line being too forcedly cut off by Obi-wan's "You are lost!"

-A possible reworking of the final scene before the credits with different credit music, but I do like thecurrent swelling happy theme as a contrast, as I feel it plays as an old fashion serial cliffhanger (like there's more to come!).

Out of the two, the first is a certainty, but I really like the exciting cliffhanger tone to the original credit music.

So, basically, if there is a version 2 of this edit, it will probably just fix that one exchange between Anakin and Obi-wan during the duel, unless there is an outcry for a couple of other changes to be made.

EDIT: Good luck, TV's Frink!

Works a lot better.......

......what about just cutting out the whole lift scene completely, they go into the lift, the doors close (shot of inside lift) you see shots of lift ascending from inside of liftshaft, the guys arrive on their floor.....doors open.....they step out.....saves all the Anakin's in, superjump out, does a flipper jump........and he's back in the lift again........why did he bother.

; )

Yeah, this scene isn't in my edit of Episode III. I've created a separate save file for my original edit, and I'm just playing around with the scenes I had deleted.

I'm in the club that TV's Frink mentioned, but!!! I like your thinkin'!

Greetings,

I thought a first post in this thread was only appropriate as I was introduced to this site through the Fanedit Forums after creating an edit of one of the Prequels.

And I bring a gift...the removal of two droids from the elevator scene in Episode 3 (this is just a fun little edit):

Take care!

Hey! Where do you think you're going?! XD

Listen! That clip - WAS AWESOME! But I have one question - is it somehow possible to remove Obi igniting his lightsaber and saying "Oh... it's you!"  ? I have a little problem with that line because it doesn't make any sense that Obi wouldn't be able to sense Anakin. In Ep 4 he sensed and found Anakin on Deathstar (an enormous space-ship), so he should be able to sense him when he's only 2 feet away.

But other than that - great job, man! A really tight and fun scene!

Quite like how the sigh transition works. : P

Yeah! This is what I'm talking about, but now could you, PLEASE, remove the whole lightsaber igniting thing (if it's possible)? That would be beyond awesome!

It's a little bit of a cheat, but here's an attempt:

Thanks for the feedback!

That flows so much better.

It feels much more like Star Wars.

Glad you enjoyed it. : )

That's much better! My only suggestion is to cut some more of Obi-Wan's lines, specifically such lines as "Always on the move" (it's a strange line, you should just show him sighing as Anakin gets out of the elevator) and "Oh, it's you" (its obvious that he recognizes him when he shuts off his lightsaber, he doesn't need to say it).

Just as you had requested it, Master:
