I agree bossk on the bad scripting theory. Throw in the fact that alot of the dialogue was read in front of a bluescreen and you can understand how it can be kind of flat. I have actually grown to like TPM more than AOTC. I think because of the whole cheesy love stuff with Anakin and Padme. Darth Maul was great and I wish he would have been given a chance to develop more as a character before getting chucked down a reactor shaft.
I disagree with ROTJ being inferior to ANH and ESB. Probably because I have such fond memories of being a sophomore in High School, ditching school the day it opened and being first in line in CA. Seeing the line wrap around the block and go as far as the eye can see was something. The duel with Vader ruled and the symbolism with the whole unmasking left a lasting impression on me. (mean old Vader really being just a gentle old man inside) Monsters aren't always what they seem. I actually like the Ewoks. People ask how could these little furry things beat the big bad Empire. Simply put, the Empire was not prepared for fighting of a primitive nature and the Ewoks were fighting for their basic survival. The thing that ruined the Ewoks in my view is the follow up movies and cartoon series. They made them pretty lame but as far as Jedi goes, it worked for me.

If you are just wanting to re-card figures, I make awesome repros of all of the original cards for fan use only of course. I even indent the punches. They look like the real thing. Well, I sometimes show up for work, (parties and such) volunteer and for money, in stormtrooper armor. If that makes me a geek, I am proud to be one!! I will tell you this though. When I make a kids day by showing up at his/her b-day party I hardly feel like a geek. In fact, I feel pretty cool!! It used to bother me that more than casual fans were lumped into the "geek" category but I think jealousy and envy plays a big part in that. We have something the bashers don't understand and if that makes us geeks, so be it.

I know I am pissing a lot of people off, I'm sorry. But, I DON'T GET IT!

Well, I am going to have to side with Mr. Coffe on this one. Although visually stunning, I also found that the pace of the movies took way to long and I felt like I was watching a different version of the same movie with each one. (I guess thats what it was) Also, the dialogue was difficult to understand, especially gollum. I actually was dozing off during ROTK in the theater. As far as the female appeal, I agree because my wife is nuts over the flicks. She is trying to catch me in number of viewings of the OT. Like that will ever happen!!
All of that being said, I can also say that I was never a big fan of the books either. Read them in junior high, tried to read them again as an adult and lost interest. Just my opinion though, albeit a minority one. I also think a lot of people have jumped on the LOTR bandwagon, seeing it as the cool, hip thing.
