When I synced the Definitive Collection audio to the PAL THX video I had to repeat & delete a frame here or two, repeating a single frame of audio is fine when it's quiet and at the beginning/end of a scene but one spot I had to repeat it 4x and it showed up - it happens when they're blowing up meteors looking for the Millennium Falcon at 52min 25sec.

Nothing major but it's enough to make me go back and fix that tiny glitch in the source wavs then re-encode the audio for the DVDs.

I was really looking forward to the XviD, in addition to the DVD. I hope a fixed version will be posted at some point for the sake of my inner perfectionist.

There's two ways of fixing the ESB XviD, re-releasing the full 3.9gb file or releasing a 229mb mp3-wav that can be dropped into the ESB avi using VirtualDub. The glitch is so small you'd only notice it if you were concentrating intently on the film or you knew it was there in the first place (damn I shoulda kept my mouth shut ).
I could put the fixed ESB mp3-wav on the ROTJ XviD DVD-R when ROTJ is done, there'll be enough space because the avi will be under 4gb.

I was really looking for "On the edge of Blade Runner", but it didn't appear on alt.binaries.dvd, even after you repost it... It maybe something with my newsgroup server. Strange, as your posts on alt.binaries.starwars appears as soon as you announce them here...

I'm also not seeing Darkside of OZ show up, in a.b.dvd or several other dvd groups I've been checking. Just FYI.

FYI, it doesn't have "Darkside of OZ" in the Subject: line -- only "CLP01"

Similarly, "On the edge of Blade Runner" isn't called that -- it's called "BLAX24 Repost" in the Subject: line.

However, in practice you must take into account the “fuckwit factor”. Just talk to Darth Mallwalker…

The VirtualDub method sounds like a great idea. It'll get the fix out for anyone who cares while saving time and bandwidth better spent on other things.

The release itself looks and sounds excellent. Thanks for all your hard work in making it a reality.

I've searched for "bla", I've searched for "edg", searched for "run", for "seg": nothin, nada.

Maybe a.b.dvd is too much crowded and my ISP's news server doesn't carry all the posts... (I've never had a problem with a.b.starwars)

THE EVIL DEAD
A word from the creator…
“~ THE EVIL DEAD ~
I have completed the edit of all three films into one long movie. It fits
nicely onto one Dual Layer disc. This is a project I started a few weeks ago
and just wrapped up last Thursday as a matter of fact. I cut out the recaps in
part 2 and 3 and I also cut out the ending of part 2 for continuity sake.
Overall it works well as a whole movie. It has 5.1 Surround Sound and is in
Anamorphic Widescreen. I have again designed the menus for this project and if
you have seen my “The Dark Side of Oz” disc you know of my work.
I did not make this disc to replace the Official DVD releases of these films.
In fact if you get a copy of this film you had better own a copy of all three
movies. After all, the only true way to experience this trilogy is by watching
the films by themselves, recaps and all. Don't support piracy.

Oh and I think “Army of Darkness” was the worst evil dead film.”

Hey SegaFlip / Guys

I Hope someone can help me out with a few files I seem to be missing - as is always the case, thought I had them all / enough Pars to cover and by the time I've found out otherwise they've dropped off Easynews web service.

Anyway:

ADM_EP5_SL => parts 6 & 17
BH005 => part 74

Anyone who could help me out I would appreciate it - as I said I've got a good block of PARS for each, but either not enough or not covering the right part of the project. BH005 only requires 2 blocks...

Thanks again.

Is that Dune edit an edit of the David Lynch movie or an edit of the Sci-Fi miniseries?

Thanks.

"DUNE" the "Fanfiltration edit"
It combines the two existing versions of the 1984 film, to make a much better movie IMHO.
My goal was fixing the horrible edit job done on the T.V. footage, plus adding the "blue within blue eyes" where it was missing. In many places, scenes have been reedited to try and faithfully reconstruct David Lynch’s original vision of the film using the December 9, 1983 shooting script as a guide. I bet Universal did nothing at all to the T.V. version but crop it to look like it's 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen. MCA Video did that with the Battlestar Galactica movie a few years ago.
My fan edit is presented in a “Pan & Scan” format; as no widescreen footage of the extended cut scenes is available at the current time of this reedit production. Yes the video looks kinda bad, but the Pan & Scan laserdisc is not the best quality, and let's not talk about how bad the T.V. print is. This was the best I could do with what is out there. This is my first edit too.

ATTN: DVD-BOY I will look into getting those fills for you.
