That's pretty cool.  would love to see some more clips like that.  I was born a few months after Star Wars was released in 77, so i missed all of the mania.

well, at least you have memories of ESB in 1980 - mania was still at a peak.  by the time of ROTJ in 1983, it started to taper a little bit - we had atari, pac-man, E.T. and other stuff and Star Wars was like a pop culture elder statesman but still ungodly huge.

click here if lack of OOT got you down

Yeah I do actually have memories of seeing Empire at the theater when I was 3,  and then of course Jedi in 83 (i sat in the first row with my best friend).

Some of these interviews come off as 'too cutsey'.  The quieter, more intense line makes my eyes roll.  But could very well be a truthful bit of history.

Hm, interesting but it's probably just a home made copy and the person who copied it cheaped out and only bought black and white film. Looks cool nevertheless.

Kenner Give-A-Show projector version of Star Wars.

http://youtu.be/VHRTiXEaW2w

I inexplicably never had these as a kid, so it's great to finally see these projector strips! Still sifting around the other videos to see if they have done Star Wars. I'm pretty sure Kenner didn't make a Jedi one, although there may have been an Ewoks set.

EDIT: Found Star Wars!

And the Ewoks...

Fantastic!  I'm not much of a collector these days (lunch box and one-sheet only), but those slides are something I wouldn't hesitate to get if I came across them at a garage sale.  A really great time slice of the innocence of the franchise back in the 70s.

They'd be worth having just for this slide alone;

Probots.  Love it!
