womble vs sony vegas encoding

so i am thinking of editing, but only basic cut and pastes with some tidied transitions. If i want the absolute best quality to come out i.e. not lose the quality much compared to the vobs am I better off using Womble or Sony Vegas (Or alternatives)

I would recommend womble editor. It can fulfill your cut-paste-transiton needs, and it won't lose the quality since it will stream copy your vobs, only re-encoding  the transition point.

I use womble more often than vegas. I really appreciate its intuitive approach and smart rendering.
