Lmao I wanna die over here. According to the new Vader comic, the hooded dudes in the amphitheater around Palps had lightsabers and could use the Force.

Bruh.

Why couldn’t they just be fanatics of the Sith. Leave it to Disney to mess up yet another thing.

You know what disney lucasfilm’s motto is: if you’re in a hole, keep digging.

I feel like it kinda takes away from the Knights of Ren. I was under the impression they were the only dark side fanatics that could use the Force a bit, and then those hooded dudes were just normal people who follow the Sith.

Next they will have Vader discover his father was a drunk who sold him for drinking money and his mom lied the whole time.

Issue 11 of Greg Pak’s run, from late last month? I thought they only had daggers in that. Or is this a different comic?

They did on the cover. Or maybe the cover is just clickbait. Who knows.

No worries, they’ll retcon it later.

I’ve read the issue, they only have knives. A good amount of their comic cover art has been more like concept art, not necessarily accurate to what’s inside. Honestly the biggest problem with that issue is the dialogue.

Yeah, this is accurate. The cover just makes it look silly for dramatic effect.

I don’t think there’s anything in that issue to worry about with this edit.

The strangest thing about it is the implied revelation that the Sith captured Luke’s hand and intend to use it for cloning (similar to the EU Zhan novels that led to Luuke). What’s really weird is that one could even conceive that his DNA is part of what became Snoke. Or the part of the strandcast that was Rey’s father.

How’s that for a mindfuck?

(To be clear, none of this is explicitly confirmed)

Yeah there’s also a theory that his lightsaber came attached to the hand, and Rey’s father escaped Exegol with the lightsaber in his possession. Then he either sold it to junkers from there (ending up with Maz), or straight up sold it to Maz somehow. Thus why it calls out to Rey, since her dad saved the blade from Palpy.

Honestly I’d like to see that in a comic.

I’ve checked out of the EU surrounding TROS. I don’t care to take it into account.

My man.

The worlds easiest job: Lucasfilm’s “new”/Disney story team. Literally do nothing, nothing needs to connect nor make sense.

I attempted to recreate the lighting of the Falcon in TROS using Blender 2.92, it somewhat looks more like a miniature than a CG ship. I’m planning on probably fixing the last shot wherein it will fly away from Tatooine, but instead of the sunset, it would go straight into hyperspace from space.

i like it very much, nice work. Always been a fan of a more haptic look than cgi. Just the belly looks kind of artificial, for my amateurish eyes.

I pretty much got the model untouched from Sketchfab but I removed the landing legs. I’m still a novice to Blender so I don’t really know how to make textures, models and stuff.

At the end, anything that looks weird will always be hidden in motion. A good motion blur + match grain from the original Blu-ray would hide any “over-perfections”

I’m also trying not to make it look as real as possible, just trying to line it up with the visual aesthetic of the film. TROS isn’t too overly-photorealistic with its VFX (and they probably didn’t care nor have the time to finish it due to the rushed nature of production) and so anything floats under the sun.

It’s a sunsRISE, Hal. Ya know, The Rise of Skywalker? Lol.

Semantics aside, I wonder if it was always intended to be one though. Maybe the novelization retconed it to be a sunrise instead of a sunset.

I might extend the final shot down to two shots: The Falcon flying off from the homestead, and another showing it flying away from the planet itself into hyperspace, for more adventures to come.

This might give extra room for the score and to keep the pace relatively smoother and not make it feel too much of a rushed ending.

(I might need help finding some footage of dusk sunsets on a pretty flat-looking desert)

Also, I’m pretty sure the Tatooine suns would be in the horizon of the homestead during sunset as shown in ANH.

In the film itself is very clearly a sunrise.

Tell that to Dat SW Guy, I agree with you. He’s the one doing the visual effects.

What? I don’t see how that’s relevant to DSWG at all. You said you weren’t sure if it was intended to be a sunrise. I was responding to you. It definitely was.
