I mean yeah, they never call it a prototype or one-of-a-kind in the movie, so you definitely don’t have to change it unless someone just really wanted to.

Other idea in connection with both the removal of the cockpit explosion AND Nev’s burning TIE in the dark (hides even more details about it) …

What if one was able to change the color/look of the “wings” of the TIE at the DSII when Rey takes it. (it’s a short scene) Instead of having that white color to the “foils” (whatever you call it) it’s the same color as the rest of the metal … so it’s like pre-painted? Even some lines around the parts that were cut off and fell off kinda shows some welding was done? The color will be the more important visual thing.

This can at least help connect some dots or at least remove the kinda blaring plot hole?

I know you can’t remove them all … but at least it’s something? (plot holes/continuity errors)

Lightsaber been repaired and looks different.

The falcon has different radar dishes.

Etc., etc.

Man … I wish I knew how and had the resources to try to do these things. Lol.

My answer would be: Whatever is easiest to change!

Yeah. Without looking, I’m hearing that there’s a colored stripe. Yeah, there’s no reason to work any harder than to change its color.

Again, I don’t ask for this but I’ll include it if anyone does want to.

My stance on revising fan edits.

If it’s just the scene where Rey steals it than it’s two shots. The absolute easiest thing to do I think is remove the red coloring around the center. That may not be enough though since it would just look like the shot is a bit desaturated (which it already is). Changing it from red to something else like gold may be doable. I think changing the “wings” is the hardest because you’d really have to lock in the motion tracking to each piece.

I’m sorry I haven’t been able to help much lately. Hal, if you wouldn’t mind sending me those two shots of Rey stealing the tie, I could take a look at it. I don’t know when I’d be able to get to it though.

That would be great and good to know! You go Poppa!

But that’s not the only appearance of the TIE after it’s “destroyed.” We also see it numerous times during the Kijimi sequence.

You’ve got to ask yourself one question: “Am I making Carrie Fisher’s ghost proud?”
Well, are ya, punk?

If I was Supreme Leader of the galaxy I would definitely have several rides. It would be like the richest person in the world only driving one car around.

I suppose it would be cool to make this second one look unique, but even if we can’t get it right it’s really not that big of a deal. Maybe Kylo just really likes that color scheme so he does the same one on all of his ships.

Not just several rides, but loaded ones.

Omg 😆

That is exactly what I was imagining haha. Sorta like how Tony Stark has a bunch of fancy Iron Man suits, Kylo has a bunch of unique TIEs. One of them made of pure gold lmao.

Man, A shiny gold tie. That’s the dream.

Looking at those hanger scene shots, I think the best hope would be to mute the red, since that shouldn’t require as much precise tracking. It would still take a good bit of concentrated time to lock that in, though, I think. Happy to try a test.

I like that. Makes it clear that it’s a different ship.

Here’s a quick test of the Tie with gold trim instead of red.

[Edit: Burbin, sorry, didn’t mean to post so quickly together. That looks nice!]

I like it as well.

Interestingly enough, they were at one point considering having Kylo’s cracks on his mask be gold (according to the documentary). I think this is a really nice nod to that.

It’s cool! Mine’s just a quick little edit and off the current topic.

I like that it looks yellow, it kinda looks like gramps’ old Jedi Fighter!

Sure! I guess it’d be good to apply it to the original shot.

Burbin and Poppa are rocking it!

Nice work you two!

I gave it a shot to alter Rey’s saber switch lights to purple and blue as it was discussed a few pages back:

Awesome! Nice seeing your idea become a reality. Great work Burbin!

Edit: After watching a few times I would suggest maybe making the purple a little stronger. I feel like the blue is drowning it out a little. Or maybe slow down slightly while she ignites the blade.
