Obviously, this is just my interpretation as he has not made any attempt to clarify his intentions. However, his deletion spree began right after that preview was removed. He is temporarily “allowing” this one so long as no one attempts to discuss behind the scenes aspects in the myspleen comment section.

I don’t blame him at all for being pissed off at people trashing his name, and constantly being dicks to him all because of an allegation made against him by one person.

Yeah, that’s the only reason.

I’m indifferent as to the whole Mike/technicolor thing at this point. Whatever happened, it seems like it was a complete mess on both sides and escalated into silliness. Hell, I agree with negative1 that it sucks that the torrent was removed from myspleen.

But no, the issues with him obviously went on long before that and continue through yesterday. Even williarob called it a “PR disaster” of a post, so I don’t know why Valeyard felt the need to support it and demand apologies based on it, but whatever.

I’m sure the vast majority of people here don’t see a need for continued issues with this person. I’ll bet if he simply showed up using his own account and said, “Hey. Sorry, once I realized how big this project was becoming, I got freaked out about people knowing my identity and did a bunch of weird stuff like pretend I was someone else and, previously, that I was a big group of people. And tried to have my threads and releases removed out of spite resulting from all this. My bad.” everyone would welcome him back with open arms.

Heh, always the biggest negative1 apologist on the site. And now literally demanding apologies from people posting on the myspleen comments. 😃

You don’t bite the hand that feeds you. Remember, N1 bought the print himself. He loaned it to poita and to MikeV so they could have their own scans of it done, and I believe (but do correct me if I’m wrong) that poita’s restoration is based on N1’s Spanish LPP as the primary print. Anyway, if you want to bash anyone and focus all that negative rage somewhere useful, aim it at Lucas, Disney, or JJ Abrams! 😄

(edit to clarify): Poita is in fact not using the Spanish print in his restoration.

I do appreciate the work he has done. Especially getting the ball rolling, initially, when people were telling him he was full of shit. But other aspects are indeed “disasters”, and I don’t agree that his work is a free pass for his behavior (nor should anyone’s be).

MikeV and Poita do indeed have scans of the print. I thought I knew the order of events as far as the scanning of it (and other prints), but I’ve heard a few variations now so I don’t know what the specifics/origins are.

SSE Cover, take 4 (“Special Edition” was spelled wrong):

In all seriousness, thanks for the cover(s)!

(edit to clarify …)
P2 and P3 are collectors that own (or owned) prints of SW. Both loaned them to Mike, and P2 paid for both to be scanned. This is where it gets complicated. P2 held raw copies of both scans, and agreed to give them both to N1. N1 either believed here that he had the knowledge and consent of P3, or believed he didn’t need it, and we don’t really know which it was. As it happened, P3 did not want his scan to be publicly released. Mike found out about this and was (probably justifiably) furious. What happened next is the important bit…

Mike convinced P2 not to give N1 a copy of either scan (including P2’s scan of P2’s print that P2 paid for). N1 would have viewed that as vindictive and unnecessary for the purposes of protecting P3 and P3’s wishes. Later Mike asked to rescan the Spanish LPP and N1 said no. So really it’s my opinion they both share culpability in that mess, especially if it is indeed true that N1 knew that P3 didn’t want people other than P2 and Mike accessing his scan.
(end edit - hopefully that’s accurate)

But other aspects are indeed “disasters”, and I don’t agree that his work is a free pass for his behavior (nor should anyone’s be).

Well, it’s his prerogative if he wants to go onto Myspleen and ask for the torrents to be removed, it’s up the Spleen admins to decide what to do. Rob didn’t exactly interject in the matter either. N1 came on here and asked for all these threads to be locked, and they weren’t. And again, none of the ex-members interjected (besides of course ignoring it and continuing to post). It’s odd behaviour yes, but it’s hardly worth bashing someone over. As I said ages back, if it’s not on the Spleen it’s not the end of the world, it’ll surely pop up on another tracker.

I want to know why the MySpleen admins take this rogue1/negative1/obi1/shitty1 asshole seriously and cave into his tantrums.

Uh no. If this isn’t worth bashing someone over, nothing is.

It’s certainly more worthwhile than opinions on how well made ROTS is.

I guess I missed the part where Abrams made special editions of TFA and buried the original.

I’m a fan of that second cover. These look great, as always.

Was checking out the 'Spleen earlier and someone had put up an MKV with 5.1 audio, but it has already been taken down. Any chance that was someone here and if so will it be up on a.b.sw anytime soon?

(Please unstar and disable this torrent; huge technical problems.)

Is the reason stated. The mods just copy and paste it from the message they get. So I guess the question is whether it was from the uploader or Mr. Sunshine.

Thanks for the info. The original description stated there may be video glitches so perhaps the uploader decided to pull it down.

Seems likely, then.

Unstarring it is an interesting choice, if they did that. That means that whomever is still leeching it while at work, etc, might have the 38 gigs of a broken download affect their ratio, though the torrent they clicked on was for a working download that does not affect their ratio.

I’m also thinking it was the uploader who took it down. Only because it was stuck at 99%!
I’d figure if the uploader wanted it distributed, he would have continued to seed to those leechers still on the torrent?

The uploader self-reported it. It won’t affect ratios: 1. because it was freeleech, 2. because once deleted the tracker no longer collects the peer information. No one had completed it to 100%, but some got to 98% or something (I suspect this was part of the uploader’s problem was that his file had somehow become corrupted).

That’s good. Just thought the request to un-star in addition to delete was odd. 😃

I was the uploader of that torrent. Once again, sorry for the inconvenience.

To make things more clear, yes, I requested for it to be disabled. Apparently oftentimes disabling a torrent rather than deleting it is preferred, so instead of deleting it myself, I deferred it to the admins to do as they pleased. I immediately stopped seeding and put in the title of the torrent that it was broken, as well as modified the description indicating the same.

As I said as quoted above, I found some major glitches in the MKV file itself that for whatever reason were not evident before I had uploaded the torrent in the first place. That is probably related to why the torrent stopped at 99% for some (or all) of you.

A downloader commented on the page when it was still up and said he intended to do that same but I beat him to it. I’ve sent him a PM requesting that he follow through with that after all. I also advocated in the comments that if anyone else is able to do the same but sooner than to do so.

All in all, my bad. I’ll definitely try to be even more thorough next time in my glitch hunting(if there is one). Count on me to help seed an MKV 5.1 release, as, if it is not already clear, I will make no attempt to re-upload.
