just found this on you tube, i thought it would be ok-ish, but its quite amazing how the death star attack run soundtrack fits right in to the dambusters footage

I don't know if Lucas has ever admitted the influence, but I've read about the similarities to The Dam Busters since the 70's. Having finally seen the movie on TCM recently, I understand now!
Peter Jackson's remake ought to be interesting.
Phantom of Krankor avatar for the win! :)
Where were you in '77?
Was the Dam Busters clip re-edited as well? I mean, it would have to be to match up to the audio so well...
IT'S MY TRILOGY, AND I WANT IT NOW!
"[George Lucas] rebooted the franchise in 1997 without telling anyone." -skyjedi2005
"Yeah, well, George says a lot of things..." a young 1997 xhonzi on RASSM
"They're my movies." -George Lucas. 19 people won oscars for their work on Star Wars (1977) and George Lucas wasn't one of them.

Gil Taylor, Star Wars' DP, was a "special effects photographer" on Dam Busters.
