Do you know where it is being sold?

A longtime seller by the name of Steve Newton over at 35mmforum. He's also on eBay. His username is "770newton".
Here's his contact info:
sanewton@bellsouth.net
(770) 455-8988 M-F 9-5PM EST
Ain't that a bit much out in the open? o.O;
"Right now the coffees are doing their final work." (Airi, Masked Rider Den-o episode 1)
He posts his contact info in all FS threads he posts. If it wasn't provided in his thread I'd be more discrete, but I don't see why since anyone browsing the 35mmforum has access to it.
This would be great to get, no doubt about it...
if anybody was able to grab the "song of the South 35mm IB Technicolor NTSC DVD5 v1" can you pm me please. my family would be very very grateful.
I didn't know there was such a disc.
If there is already an ongoing scan of a 35mm Song of the South film, then what is the sense of anyone buying the current 35mm film being sold?
Because the previous one was withdrawn and only a few lucky people got it.
So less than 240 people have downloaded the 16mm WMV from myinternalorgan... and then this happened...
It has come to my attention, as it should others as well, that a guy called Cliff is SELLING this release on craigslist: https://norfolk.craigslist.org/emd/4838142836.html
The fact that you want to share this release with others is one thing and understandable, but the fact that you are trying to PROFIT from other peoples work is despicable!! It clearly states in torrent description that this release is NOT intended to be sold and the "guru's" on the spleen (if they can) should ban the user that is doing this!
Sharing is caring but this.... this is just wrong:(
He copied the .nfo but cut off the part saying that this release is not for sale...
Unbelievable.

So what was the difference between the 16mm 1080p WMV release and the DVD release? Naturally, the DVD would be a downconvert, but was it different visually?

Probably not from what I've understand, but what do I know?
Currently enjoying Disney Infinity 3.0
I'm guessing not. I think he just made a DVD of the WMV.
Which dvd are you talking about? The 35mm scan dvd that was up for a short time on myspleen (anyone know why it's gone now btw)?

Song of the South - 35mm IB Technicolor Spirit Telecine, NTSC DVD5 release (version 1)
Welcome to part 2/3 of our Song of the South Christmas Release!
This is the 35mm IB Tech scan in DVD format with a menu, performed on a Spirit Telecine.
Format : NTSC DVD5
VIDEO: MPEG2 720x480
AUDIO: 35mm stereo, AC3
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
No cleanup or color correction has been done - Technicolor is one of the most color-fast processes
and this print looks the same as the day it was struck. This print was scanned on a Spirit telecine,
so unfortunately not top of the line, but still the best quality out there. This far surpasses the
BBC release, and should be the definitive until a 4k scan occurs. Again, for the holiday season we
wanted to make it available to the general public.
Originally, the small team working on this had considered waiting for cleanup on the Raw files
to be completed before release. However, due in large part to the cleanup coming to a virtual halt
(with other scanning projects taking precedence over a clean-up job and lack of true raw files)
we feel that now is the time.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
THIS RELEASE IS NOT FOR SALE, REPACKAGING OR ANY FOR PROFIT PROJECT.
This project is not affiliated, sponsored, or related to Disney. All properties are (c) and (r) to them.
The Monkey King - Uproar In heaven (1965) Restoration/Preservation Project
Nezha Conquers the Dragon King (1979) BBC 1.66:1 & Theatrical 2.35:1 preservations
well the post states it's the 16mm 1080p WMV "converted to DVD," whatever that means...
but it's definitely not the 35mm footage as there is no mention of it in that post at all
as far as the 35mm disappearing from MS, according to log:

I got it, and a few others got it, I'm not sure if I should post sceenshots though. It has a purple-tint (especially in the dark areas), the colours are much more vibrant than the 16mm, and it's missing part of a shot with br'er rabbit.
The 16mm is still very good, and it's complete. Compared to what was available before it, I don't see how anyone can be disappointed in having it.

It's a bit like looking at the GOUT and saying "well compared to what was available before it, I don't see how anyone can complain". Yeah, it's better than what we had before, but it's not the best that it can and should be.

Only a little bit though because the JSC came out way before the DefCol/Faces/GOUT and it's demonstrably better in most ways. ;o)
A picture is worth a thousand words. Post 102 is worth more.
I’m late to the party, but I think this is the best song. Enjoy!
