Met him many years ago, had a good gab with him, absolutely lovely guy.
R.i.p. Jeremy. You’ll always be Boba to me.

Sad news.

I just watched Elstree 1976 yesterday.

Rest in Peace. A true class act who didn’t need a bucket over his head to be cool!

“Heroes come in all sizes, and you don’t have to be a giant hero. You can be a very small hero. It’s just as important to understand that accepting self-responsibility for the things you do, having good manners, caring about other people - these are heroic acts. Everybody has the choice of being a hero or not being a hero every day of their lives.” - George Lucas

I’d forgotten that Jeremy had a cameo in Revenge of the Sith. Here he is piloting the Tantive IV (for anyone who doesn’t know, he’s on the left in the scene where Bail Organa, Obi-Wan and Yoda return to Coruscant).

Here he is looking fresh-faced during filming of The Empire Strikes Back.

And here he is as Boba himself, taking some direction from Kershner very seriously indeed. I’m surprised how much time must have passed between photos, as both are using Cloud City sets.

I hear he was in one or two episodes of Doctor Who as well, but I’ve watched very little of the series - I’m sure there are a few Whovians lurking around who remember his appearance well.

Damn all three of these guys are gone now, this sucks.

Why people say silly stuff like this? They all lived extremely long lives.

IIRC, Prowse contracted Covid.

At that age even a cold can be a serious problem. The point I was making is that when a person lives a very long and interesting life, the death is not a tragedy but a natural event. The sentiment “this sucks” is therefore very inappropriate.

Sure, “death is a natural part of life, rejoice for those around you who transform into the Force” and all that, but death is still sad. It still sucks for their family and friends who will never be in their company again, and it sucks for us Star Wars fans who won’t get to meet and thank them at conventions or whatever.

I agree though that death after a long and hopefully fulfilling life is ultimately a good thing, when compared to death after an unhappy and unsuccessful life or the horrible concept of immortality. But this isn’t the philosophy thread!
