Yeah, that seems perfectly logical, and why I have no problem with either version. I was excited they actually built an interior set at all. Well, thanks for that opinion, but I still don't think a Tantive IV redo is necessary, especially not for the first movie since it came first.

Guys, I've noticed an interesting trend of sorts.

When I was reading the reviews on Amazon.com for the THX-1138 director's cut, almost every review was of someone bitching and moaning about the changes he made for his directors cut.

Then when reading the review for the new boxset of the Narnia books, nearly every review had someone complaining about the fact that the publishers were now packagibng these books in chronological order, rather than the order in which they were released. They always gave the same reason along the lines of "I read them originally this way, so everyone everyone else should." They always said it ruins the story because it wasn't the way they originally read them.

Hmmm... kind of reminds me of something...

Your post about the Narnia books is pure bait, especially the 'reminds me of something else' statement. Reading books in chronological order is not the same as totally altering those books. Besides, if they really want, they can read the books in whatever messed up order they wish. It's not the same at all man, and if you try telling me once more that the only reason I don't like the ball-lickingly crap SEs is because of Nostalgia, I may have to personally come to whatever redneck town you live in and kick your ass.

P.S Apparently CS Lewis requested in his will that his Narnia books were not made into movies.

By the way, although I can't take credit for all the vandalism, I'm proud to say that most of the altered wikipedia articles that you linked to in the trolls thread were vandalised by me, you shit, although like I said, it wasn't all me, so I guess I'm not the only one who thinks you're a prick.

Look man, I gave you many chances, but you keep just stirring the shit, patronising us all and making out like we are nostalgic losers for liking the OT. Well, if you don't like it (even though you've never seen it) than that's fine, but what kind of kick do you get out of hanging around here lording it over us? Here's some advice - get a girlfriend (above the age of 6) and leave us alone. Adam, if you like the prequels, that's great, more power to you.

My kids like them, and that's what matters to me....Hell, my 13 yr old daughter thinks AOTC is the best one (go figure), and she also likes Harry Potter, that Narnia stuff and the OC...even though I don't get the younger generations taste, I just smile and figure kids look at these films different than we do.

My 4 yr old son is a little more like I was at his age, and likes ROTS, but always laughs at the Vader "nooo" and Palpatine hamming it up before he zaps Mace, even though I'd like to tell him I don't think it was intended to be funny, kids have a different take on these movies then we do.

Adam and the younger generation can love these films all they want, but need to understand that when they get older, they might understand a little better if someone takes something you grew up on and alters it in not such appealing ways.

Exactly.

Perhaps someday I may see how it feels to have something done as Lucas did to the OOT. But, at this moment in time, I don't really care if he makes changes to the PT. I guess you could say that I welcome change.

And I forgot to add...refuses to acknowledge those original versions or release them again in a modern format (VHS and Laserdisc is not considered modern format any more).

In fact I don't care what Luca wants to do with future versions of his movies, as long as he could just acknowledge that his original films have the right to be preserved as well, and leaves the option available for people to buy it unaltered if they so desire...istead he gives us this "they are my films, and in my mind the originals don't exist anymore" I only hope someday the guy develops a grain of sentiment, and respect for the preservation of films in an unaltered format.

Well said, I wish he would acknowledge them as he happy was collect awards, make tons of cash and become a famous because of them, and without any of those poor old Adam wouldnt have his beloved SEs.Prequels or his holy saga.
