railerswim's Despecialized Edition Set

Currently a big work in progress but I’m aiming for a cool take on the 2011 complete saga box. But much much much darker.

I will constantly update this post.

Also these images aren’t exactly their final drafts. The final drafts will never be uploaded online as I don’t want people steeling my work and selling it.

Gonna prototype with white card stock next week and then I’m going to do my first run at the box. It’s gonna be awesome as I will be pressing art foil onto the outer shell.

1/1/2018 (1) - Currently Figuring out Book Panels
1/1/2018 (2) - Working on Outer box for now. I’ll probably come back to the book panels when I figure out extra features and pamphlets and stuff to design.
1/2/2018 - Added Discs
1/6/2018 - Added Outside cover for the “Guide.” The guide is actually complete and ready for printing. I’d have it printed but my printer just crapped out on me lol. So trying to find a place to get it printed.

Disney had nothing to do with the OT. You should remove their logo from the disc me-think. And using an image from TFA for a OT box set is quite curious as well.

I put Disney on their because they own all of it now. But I’ll pull the logo anyways because yeah it just doesn’t fit or flow well. And I guess they don’t throw their logo on Star Wars stuff now anyways just the Lucasfilm logo.

As for the melted Darth Vader helmet, I find it symbolic of the despecialized editions. Paying homage to the and worshipping is what Kylo Ren was doing with the helmet. We pay homage to the past by watching stuff that is or is close to the original theatrical releases. Plus I just really like the image. And it can apply to the OT since Vader’s cremation was done at the end of RotJ.

So I’ll be getting started on assembling and printing this at the beginning of next week. I’m currently down at PAX South so can’t really do much about it right now.

May be a bit before I get started. I ended up being admitted to the hospital for a bit, stuck kidney stone and infected kidney 😦

I’ll get started on it this weekend.

Still been pretty ill guys. Ill enough that I haven’t gone into work even for weeks. Will try to get this done when I can. But all the art is ready to go and ready to be printed.

Ok so I’m on the up. However I am in the process of getting a new job lol. So I have to prep for the interview and hopefully start moving soon. That being said, this new job will give me better financial capacity to do it right! So that’s some good news. Will keep everyone posted.
