Any test screening should conform Generally to the shooting script. The Jabba scene and biggs scenes were in the shooting script and John Jympson rough cut but not in any near finished version of the movie and certainly not the one shown at northpoint.

The Luke missing with his grappling hook scene i don't even remember even being in the Shooting Script though i could be wrong, not sure. I know there was a version of the script where Luke misses on his first go on the death star trench and then hits the reactor shaft on the second try.

This guy Marsters is gonna be in the Dragonball movie, lol. He can be in a joke of a movie like that playing a character who has bat nipples and try to make up some story about a supposed rough cut of star wars no one else saw.

thanks skyjedi2005, for the information...

i doubt he was lying (just wrong about the date)..

granted there are other things wrong on starwars.com,

but he does know Lucas, and for them to put up information about a test screening,

when there wasn't one , would bring out some comments that can be verified by other

impartial sites...

i did a google look up of the information, and it pretty much verifies that it happened..

and like it said, it wasn't just him, there were a lot of people there..

it's just a matter of finding someone that actually remembered it, and rememered it

well enough to verify if there were differences or changes in it..

if i knew ahead of time i was seeing something else before everyone (ie. reporter/reviewer),

i would be making notes, and watching very carefully to make out details..

if it was just for fun (like it was for most of those kids)... i doubt they would remember

specific details about it, to recall what the differences were..

i dont' have a great memory, (but my brother does), and he can easily recall all

kinds of details about stuff from our childhood that i can barely remember.. and

it can be verified by what my mom says, (pictures/and other stuff too).. so his

memory is more 'photographic' than mine..

there was a case of a woman that could 'never' forget anything she saw/read/watched,

it was really interesting (and hard for her though).... who made notes about everything,

and could recall them pretty much instantly..

yeah, maybe if somehow had some of that ability, we wouldn't be wondering about

all these details of test showings / mystery prints / deleted scenes / changed scenes..

but this is the closest i've seen to the actual confirmation that their MIGHT have

been a test print that people have actually seen, so i wouldn't dismiss it as lightly

as you have.

Actually, Empire and Jedi didn't play the Chinese either, they were at The Egyptian. (which had a big post-earthquake restoration and is now way smaller than it was, I have no idea why)
