Idea: letters from iwo jima - flags of our fathers

anyone seen these two films yet?

I’m thinking it might be an idea to splice these two into one film and make it something like tora tora tora.

and dump all the moralising stuff that made flags of our fathers so heavy to digest. ie make it a straight war film about iwo jima and call it - iwo jima.

When a woman says yes, she means no - when she says maybe, she means no.

Nah, I don't think that could work. It might be interesting, but the power of Letters from Iwo Jima is that we only see the Americans when the Japanese see them. I think it would detract from an almost perfect film.
