so i just got a hand me down dvd burner, and have been trying to convert some media to vobs and burn it so i could watch it on my dvd player. I get the vobs, they play fine on the computer but once i burn them the dvd pixelate and eventually lock. They start out fine, but in three or four attempts they always end up doing the same thing. Same thing when i try backing up a dvd. Any help is good help...

My first guess would be that you got a hand-me-down precisely because it was having these problems.

What's the model, and what software are you using?

JediRandy: They’re certainly beyond any repair you’re capable of making.

MeBeJedi: You aren’t one of us.
Go-Mer-Tonic: I can’t say I find that very disappointing.

JediRandy: I won’t suck as much as a fan edit.

What type of player are you using? Perhaps the DVD player is an older model and has compatibility issues with + or -, whichever you're using.

So, your DVDs have this problem on more than one DVD player?

Try burning them at a slow speed and see if that makes a difference. Are they -R or +R?

how does one decrypt then?

i suppose another good question would be how do you get divx to dvd for free?

as well as how did you get the tr47 onto a dvd? cause i am haveing the same issues there.

i think it is either a media issue or a software at this point...
