hi guys we have went LONG enough without case and disc art for this FANTASTIC ADM set,so if any of the GREAT artists want to whip up some OFFICIAL ADM Harry Potter art(and dont forget the ADM logo please)i will make it worth your time, and dont forget to add that there are Single-Layer versions and Dual-Layer versions, maybe a 2 disc clamshell case art. so artists of OT will there be any takers on this? DJ
i will say pretty please with sugar on top, hows that sega? DJ damn i really need to learn how to make my own art,is there any good tutorials out there you can direct me too?
where does one get good photoshop knowledge?there has to be a good place to start, and is there templates for these covers?where do you guys find the images, and the text and the logo's etc? DJ
well... any knowledge of photoshop i have i got just by fiddling around with it... or buying a dummies book... templates I use i got at www.neato.com... i know that the star wars cover torrent rikter had going a while ago had templates and logos in it, but i think that torrent has long since died, not sure though
There are tons of templates (both blank and in stock layouts for all studios), logos, fonts, and finished custom covers at Dagon's Den. They also have a paid subscription resource area with high-res poster art, stills, credit blocks, etc.
As for Photoshop knowledge and/or skill, it's something you just pick up through books, online tutorials, and way more practice and noodling around than I've put in thus far. The basics are fairly easy to get down, it's the little tricks to digitize imagination that take time and patience to learn.
Thought I'd try my hand at this. Here is a preliminary mock-up of a design I was thinking about for your set, ADM. Obviously input is welcome here. The back of the cover says "A Digital Man Presents: The Harry Potter Literary Edition."
I was hoping to incorporate the idea that you had edited back in scenes making the films truer to the books. Now, I obviously need to fill the space on the back with film titles or maybe the movie posters (which might stand out too much).
What do you think? Is this worth finishing? Again, input more than welcomed.

The tutorials at worth1000.com have taught me a few cool tricks.
Here is roughly what I will be using for the 4th movie. Careful observers will note that it is for a double wide case to match the book, which also was much wider. I am mostly through with the other book covers as well.
ALL the covers shown are real nice, but i was looking for something like these: HP 1 HP 2 HP 3 but with the correct ADM info on the back, and SL and DL versions(2 disc),i like that these are colorfull,so if someone can use these and make matching SL and DL disc art,you will be rewarded for your hard work, these were posted at the halloween movie forums, and the creator of these is dark shape, but these have been up at this small resolution for weeks now,and i contacted him to see if HE would modify, for a ADM HP release, and he is not interested,so i personally dont see why we cant use and modify to our needs, also here is the ADM logo,if you need it. ADM LOGO thanks for your time, and different versions would fine too, more choices, but the above is something i am looking for. DJ
I have okay resolution versions of the first two Struzan posters without text if anyone is interested...
None was done for Azkaban, which is a shame.
I was thinking, ADM, would you mind if I reworked my design into a slip case for the three DVD's? I was looking at it closer and it might make a nice box to print out?
Those look really nice but you might want to change the tagline to the third one since it's a Ray Bradbury book/film already. Other than that small tidbit, they look stylish.
Something Wicked This Way Comes (or SWTWC as I like to call it) IS in the movie and in the trailer. Yeah, they stole from Bradbury, but watcha gonna do?
Is this more in line with what you're after? What would you like on the back if you're down with this design? I'd like to pursue this project if you like it, so give me some honest input! Thanks.
that looks cool TheCassidy,so you will make the other ones different color also like the examples i posted?and for the back just a description of the movie(and maybe description of the deleted scenes put back in,etc),the normal logo stuff, and that there is a single layer and dual layer versions,i want this case to hold BOTH versions(2 disc)and other than that, use your creative talents for the rest. thanks for the effort TheCassidy DJ ps one thing can you make the red color a little brighter like the above sample? also PM me and i will tell you what the reward is,since you have agreed to tackle this for me,i just think this GREAT set has gone long enough without some fantastic art work.

Well, it came from Shakespeare originally, so I guess it's in the public domain.
I haven't been on the site in a few days, and I popped in to find this thread. I appreciate the discussion garnered over the weekend. They all look good, so keep up the good work, all of you. D_J, what site were these being discussed at apart from this one?
