Hey everyone, my name's James. Long time visitor, first time poster. Pleased to meet ya.

I'm trying to organize a letter writing campaign to let Lucas know that a good number of fans are upset over the exclusion of the originals from DVD. I'm not trying to start a war here; if you're into the "SEs," that's cool. I'm not out to change anyone's mind. However, if you're not into the "SEs" and you want to sound off, join us up with us and send Georgie Boy a letter of discontent on July 19th. There's more info at my website:

Again, I'm not trying to stir anything up here. Just wanted to clue you in. In reading some of the posts on this board, I see some of you are just as passionate regarding this issue as I am.

In case anyone is wondering, "Star Wars Ruined My Life" is the title of the book I'm currently trying to get published. It's a reflection on the influence the movies had on me growing up. If anyone knows a publisher desperate for a hilarious work of non-fiction, let me know!

It's a great idea, and any help is always good. But I've heard GL never reads or handles fan letters for legal reasons. BUT... it could help.

I'll buy your book. Great title, altought it could be misleading, people can think it's about someone who hates SW, which is actually the opposite. Maybe it should be called "George Lucas Ruined my Life", or "SW SE Ruined my Life".

Luke I can't stand insulting you since you took the name of one of my favorite movie characters but I am just saying the truth. If Lucas decides to release the originals it will be on his own terms. No fan will ever convince him to release em. Personally I don't believe Lucas will change his mind but who knows.

Well, the title is supposed to be tongue-in-cheek. It should be pretty obvious after you read the introduction. But you're right, I'm sure a few people will misinterpret it. We'll see when it gets published...

I knew July 19th had to be somebody's birthday! Happy B-Day, a month and how ever many days in advance.

No but I am a Simpsons fan. So I thought that line would come in handy here. Really people trying to get the originals released is like a kid who will not quit trying to dig to china. Its cute but it they will never succed.

Jimbo, could I ask you a question, without offending you? If you feel the prequels are better films, and if you feel everyone's attempts to get the original cuts on DVD are feeble and pointless, why are you here? It's just something that struck me strangely, and I'd seriously like to know.
