Fans would be happier, much less bitching and bickering and flaming. In theory, at least.

I'd like a qui-gon jinn please with an Obi-Wan to go.

Red heads ROCK. Blondes do not rock. Nuff said.

I sure for some, they may have accepted the Prequels more, had the Classic Trilogy been left alone but because of whats has happened they may have taken their frustrations with Lucas out on the Prequels, but had the Classic Trilogy been left alone then released, I am sure some fans would have walked away from Star Wars seeing where they thought the Prequels were heading or headed and not stayed around to bash them

Walk away? On this forum? Yes. In general, no...because while all of us here want the OOT released, there is a LARGE number of fans that have embraced the PT, or atleast the final two films of the PT. Even though TPM was lauded be fans and critics alike, the number of repeat viewings was ridiculous when you compare it to the number of people that ACTUALLY liked it. That's not just 8-12 year olds going to see the film. That is fans, OOT or just plain OT alike going back to see a film that really wasn't very good.

Whether it was intended or not, alot of the performances, dialogue and events that happen in the OT have been greatly enhanced by the PT. You almost get a sense that Owen Lars vaguely remembers C3PO, with his quick offhand comment about the droids training, and that CP3O remembers something about working on a farm like that, being trained on equipment similiar to it.

personally I have no problem with the 1997, and 2004 special editions as long as he releases the oot too. This gives fans a chance and an opportunity to own both. while they are at it they should also release the 1997 special editions on dvd, that would give us a choice of three versions possibly four with the 2007 editions. What about seamless branching the bluray technology/hd dvd would be a must for this. They could even put tons of deleted stuff in from the archives and the screenplays because the new format fits so much more data.

While lucas is at it he should release all the deleted scenes for all six films, especially the original trilogy. The dailies etc. Maybe the lost cut too. And all those classic making of specials in good quality.

Well, I'm not sure if the branching technique would work with the way he has changed his films.`As you know, he has made many very small changes to his movies that would be difficult to cut out using the branching technique.
