editing

i need to remove a song playing sort of in background but still strong at some points.........the scene im refering to is Point Break,,,,,,,,when Keauna is trying to explain to Lori Petty bout his dreams being his parents dream before his parents diedin car wreck...its got some cheesy sheryl crow song in background and just doesnt fit to me

It's most likely impossible.  The only way this would work is if the dialogue was completely isolated in the center channel, which is incredibly rare - if there's anything else in the channel along with the dialogue, you may be able to EQ some of it out, but it'll still be there.  And, of course, you'd have to rebuild any sound effects from scratch.
