Here's my first draft of the first one. I'll be putting up the next one as soon as it is ready. I'll finetune them according to feedback. Jay was nice enough to let me know where to purchase the fonts he used for the site, as soon as I've gotten around buying them, I'll update the banners with the site's fonts.

Next one is ready.

I'm currently just focusing on shelling out ideas before I forget them. Again tweaking will follow later according to feedback.

MSD, both of these rock! One suggestion for the Yoda one would be to change the final line to "my childhood memories are these!" Sounds better, IMHO.

ideas still flowing

hmm... somehow I don't like this one, it doesn't go with the flow of the others, imho.
Oh well, I'll leave it up for now. Plenty of time to sort out the crappy ones after I've finished doing all my banner ideas.

I dunno, MSD. I really dig the "Enjoy the Silence" one. Perfect for Depeche Mode freaks like Motti (and myself who is just a simple DM fan, not a freak). I just wish there was some way to zoom in on Luke a bit more in that image. The rest of them rock as well. And, yes, the Yoda one does seem better with the changed text.

You've got some great ideas here, MSD. You should PM Jay and let him know to look them over and maybe add them to his link logo page.

Bossk, I'm sure Jay is aware of this thread. I assume he wanted the custom stuff to remain in the forums. otherwise he would have put up the "Bring my shuttle!" one by RRS-1980 ages ago. On the other hand, you're right that not many folks seem to end up in this section of the forum. I might drop him an e-mail when I'm done with all the banners.

About the yoda banner: I'm still breeding over this. Don't you think "My childhood merories these are!" would be more correct yoda-speak-wise? Because the original line is "My home this is!". With the current version we've not only modified it into plural, but also flipped two words. Hmm... I'd like to hear your thoughts on that.

The silence banner: Yah, I tried using a shot with Luke being zoomed on more. But I felt it didn't have much dignity showing him so close up. I also thought the picture to become more interesting if you have too look at the pic for a while to get it. But I'll put up the earlier version next to it, so you can judge for yourself.

You can do either "these are" or "are these". My concern was with using "these is" or "this is", whichever was the original because it wasn't matching up in terms of plural usage. You were using singular "is" with plural "memories". Yeah, Yoda speaks backwards, but he still matches up his tenses and plural usage and all that jazz. Surprisingly. But he does.

I'm partial to the odds one and the falcon one, for obvious reasons. Nice work, MSD.

Princess Leia: I happen to like nice men.
Han Solo: I'm a nice man.

i have many of their singles and remixes on vinyl, and also where the record itself is in a different colour and not the usual black.
