Katie Lucas is not just the child of the owner of the franchise, she's also an employee who writes scripts for the shows. You don't hear anything about SW from the other two children.

I agree with everything you've said CO and I have no problem if you guys want to continue this discussion, but IMO publicly scrutinizing KL's reaction to something that reflects badly on us in the first place is only adding fuel to the fire. Besides, her opinion is not of special importance.
And of course Michael is better than Kobe :)
*edit* Actually I guess her opinion is of special importance. If George will not turn to the good side, then...
*shutting up now*

when she baits the fans, "They will complain and complain.....and then they will buy the BluRay set." or "Han never shot first." She is opening the door from certain SW fans to challenge her.
I agree.
For the record, I have no interest in her opinion one way or another. Nor do I follow any twitter accounts, post on the official FB page, or belong to any official entity of Lucasfilm.
That said; I have zero sympathy for any flack she gets when she openly baits fans who have issues with her father's constant lying.
She could have taken the mature\professional path but chose not to. In fact, as a representative of Lucasfilm, she should have. To me, it reflects poorly on her and her company. It also shows we're not going to get a proper release of the 1977 theatrical version, even after George is no longer in charge.
Also, she's incorrect about OT fans buying it anyway. Lucasfilm's buy-everything-regardless minion base is considerably smaller than it used to be. Fool us once.....
I didn't bother to get the facts and jumped the gun with my opinionated post. I thought she was younger and did not know she worked for Lucasfilm. *shame* She is an acceptable target for sure.
I've been wrong about everything lately. I just hope I am wrong about the MIAMI CHEAT winning the NBA Championship. Wrong thread, I know... wrong again :(

I'm predicting Mavs in 6, it's Dirk's time to win a title!
I am sure to be fair, seeing the video George Lucas raped our childhood on youtube, or the South Park episode of Indiana Jones getting raped would piss anyone off. If it was their dad being savaged by the critics.
People in Lucasfilm have gotten real quiet on the issue of the oot being systematically erased by George Lucas from history, even in the face of the documentary the people vs george.

You know what you look like to me, with your good bag and your cheap shoes? You look like a rube. A well scrubbed, hustling rube with a little taste. Good nutrition has given you some length of bone, but you're not more than one generation from poor white trash, are you and that accent you've tried so desperately to shed? Pure West Virginia. What's your father, dear? Is he a coal miner? Does he stink of Olean? You know how quickly the boys found you... all those tedious sticky fumblings in the back seats of cars...while you could only dream of getting out... getting anywhere... getting all the way to the OT.COM.
Ah, a classic quote from SOTL. Did any of you guys know that the part about the accent was ad-libbed on set, and that Foster was genuinely angered by Hopkins' words, that her upset response was genuine?

I know buddy, but don't you worry it'll all be okay. *Pats Easter on the back sympathetically.* Someday when you're all grown up, you too, will learn how to be articulate and rational.

I picked the Heat in 6 in 2006, and didn't bet either series! -:)
I decided to tempt fate and restore the commenting functions. I updated the captions and descriptions to mention that the original versions won't be on blu-ray, and to thank the OT.com preservationists for their hard work.
If you guys want to drop in once and a while and help me slap down some of the morons, I'd appreciate it. :-)
My YouTube channel is also "mielr", btw.

Should turn out to be an interesting experiment. Finding trends from the user comments pre-post the new release would make for a good article or blog post.
Would think this new release would mollify this situation. Having everything in one package (if these people choose it) leaves it up to the purchaser. Ever since 2006, maybe the psychology of the trolls in these videos is they feel slighted having been reminded of the old versions, and that's caused their periodic lashing out. If they only want the new, they'll purchase just the new and that ignoring of the old will transition over into those who post.
...and so it begins:
"Dear mielr,
Your video, Han shot first - Star Wars, may have content that is owned or licensed by FOX.
No action is required on your part; however, if you are interested in learning how this affects your video, please visit the Content ID Matches section of your account for more information.
Sincerely,
- The YouTube Team"
Ah, yes, the ever-present copyright holders who have nothing better to do than close down short videos sampling small bits of their properties ... one must be wary of them.
It's not like we can search on youtube for "A New Hope Part 1" and watch the entire movie or anything...
And a stupid bill is in Congress that would allow copyright holders to shut down websites that do not take down content when requested by requiring payment processors to cut off support within five days of notification.
The blue elephant in the room.

What is the link to the video? is it actually down or are they making you aware that it may go down.
*EDIT*
Is this it? : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e1YbFnkZwZk
If that is it, then they are selectively targeting that video. as you're other SW related are still active. This smells shitty. The EFF.org's http://www.chillingeffects.org/ has a submittal form to log this complaint into a larger database. They also have tips on how to fight the take down and get the video returned.
*/EDIT*
If you want to be a pest, mention in the comments that the video has been tagged and your reaction. Then suggest that if people want the video to remain online they should re-upload a copy to Any service and post the link into the comments. If even 1-2 people every month repost it somewhere... anyway that's the pest response.
Blocked in the US for sure... thought you guys should know.
A Goon in a Gaggle of 'em
Back in 1996 or so, when Lucasfilm had a run of website take downs, those website grouped together by adding the 'Star of Alderaan' emblem to their websites. Might be time to revive that idea.
*EDIT*
Problem is this is coming from FOX, would like to hear more about what other things have disappeared.
here's a list of some of the past SW related take downs:
According to Lucasfilm Representative Steve Sansweet Quote: "Other studios filing cease and desist orders, going after the fans, this isn't what Lucasfilm was about." (quote via: http://www.digitalcity.com/2009/07/28/comic-con-steve-sansweet-on-star-wars-fandom/)
Here is a random selection from teh Lucasfilm Cease and Desists archives.

Quote: "It looks like the issue that drew LucasFilm Ltd's attention to Diesel Sweeties creator Rich Stevens is a selection of t-shirts by Stevens that LucasFilm believes reference trademarked Star Wars material, albeit in a slightly obtuse way in some cases."http://news.cnet.com/Lucasfilm-fights-for-the-rights-to-Tatooine.com/2100-1023_3-235678.html

Quote: "This morning, agents of the FBI and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) executed 10 search warrants across the United States against leading members of a technologically sophisticated P2P network - the final entry in the Star Wars series, "Episode III -Revenge of the Sith," was available for downloading"http://fancinematoday.com/2008/10/01/who-killed-star-wars-the-dark-redemption/
Quote: "The fall-out of Lucasfilm's C&D on the fan film would play out for a few years, although now the company sponsors the annual fan film competition beloved by many fan film fans. Still, it's fair to wonder how popular TDR could have become had it not been stalled by Lucas' lawyers. Would it have reached Troops-level icon status?"But there are also examples of Lucasfilm attempting to key into internet alternatives, like this Obama/Star Wars Luke 'A New Hope' t-shirt design:

This maybe part of a larger enforcement. I had been keeping track of full versions of any of the movies found on public video hosting sites (http://originaltrilogy.com/forum/topic.cfm/Movie-Full-Active/post/469897/#TopicPost469897) and many of them are now gone.
That doesn't explain how 'Han shot first' got picked up in the mix. But it is a sign they are clamping down post BD / pre 3D.
I don't know why that one in particular got picked on- maybe because "Han Shot First" has become a catchphrase (?) The clip of the '77 scroll I posted was banned only in Germany a few years back, supposedly because of music copyright issues.
The Han video had less hits than the ESB clip I posted, and FAR fewer than the ROTJ clip. The Han video was linked to in a CNN.com article once, though.
