1. Notepad

2. Pen/Pencil

3. Put 2 and 2 together (or 1 and 2) and you should have a handy way of keeping up all your action figures

as mentioned before this thread should be with the other merchandise forum...
but places like http://www.sirstevesguide.com/ if you login (might have to pay) but they have a check list option to keep track of your stuff.

I just wrote my own database in access (years ago when i still collected regularly) It served my purposes and kept track of all the information that i wanted/needed. also had some reports/filters so i could get information on figures in various ways (ie stuff i had duplicates of, 12" figures, 3.5" figures, vehicles, etc)

John Kellerman's "Star Wars Vintage Action Figures"

The best book i've come across to really attempt to nail down every single OT figure and variation. Wonderfully clinical layout and just way too much information to take in.

I'd install an Oracle database on a UNIX dedicated server and create a J2EE application that access the database through CORBA.

Or... if your budget is lower: use Microsoft Access

Or... if you wanna use good stuff for free: install MySQL and create a template to use the database with java servlets using TomCat as localhost webserver.

Or... if you are not familiar with development: a spreadsheet would be nice. Belive it or not, Microsoft Excel is the best one around (and the best Microsoft software around, only one that works very well), and it's easy to master it's formatting and formulas. Also, you can use VBA macros if you are familiar with Visual Basic...
“Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.” — Nazi Reich Marshal Hermann Goering
