I think here because it gives us a sense of time passing from leaving the Jundland Wastes to their arrival at Ben’s hut. It’s also before Tarkin comes to the conference room and announces that he’s just got word from the Emperor the senate has been dissolved. It gives us a chance to see that happen and possibly hear word about the missing Death Star plans.

“Heroes come in all sizes, and you don’t have to be a giant hero. You can be a very small hero. It’s just as important to understand that accepting self-responsibility for the things you do, having good manners, caring about other people - these are heroic acts. Everybody has the choice of being a hero or not being a hero every day of their lives.” - George Lucas

After the credits. He’d be on the pot, reading a newspaper while waiting to have a bowel movement. Then he’d read the news of the Death Star’s destruction. And here’s where a new Force power would be introduced: Force diarrhea.

I don’t mind him being spoken of, but by Sith don’t show him. You will ruin the reveal in Return of the Jedi, also keep him that mysterious hologram from Empire Strikes Back voiced by Clive.

I mean like in Alan Dean Foster’s Novelization where he is this Nixonian Wizard of Oz character behind the curtain. I would also prefer he remain not a Darth.

I totally agree with Stardust1138 on scene placement, for execution I agree with others to save the big reveal, what I would envision that scene looking like would be a combination of the emperor and his advisors moment from ROTJ mixed with Darth’s meditation chamber scene in ESB, with Tarkin in the position of Admiral Piett, cloaked in shadow and secrecy with very few words.

Or he could be in a throne room chair a la ROTJ, but with the chair facing away from the viewers, giving him a scene without actually showing him.

It might be interesting to extend the scene of Tarkin learning the situation on Dantooine. It would start with the darkened conference table and a voice coming through from the orb at the center. The Emperor warns Tarkin that the destruction of Alderaan could drive more support to the Rebellion, but Tarkin assures him that they now have the location of the Rebel base. The transmission ends and they receive word that Dantooine is a bust, leading Tarkin to call for Leia’s execution.

I was thinking the same exact thing. It has to be before Leia is brought to the deck to watch her planet explode.

Hiding the Emperor’s face until The Empire Strikes Back does nothing, because we see his face in the Kenobi series talking to Vader. It’s weird we don’t see Yoda or the Emperor in A New Hope.

I wish they could get Jimmy Smits to film that scene on Alderaan as it explodes. He witnesses the green laser striking his planet and we see the ground crumble and move like an ocean wave across the planet and a scared and concerned look on his face and the planet starts to explode.

After seeing the Obi-wan Kenobi series, to see Alderaan explode from on the planet’s surface would make me feel so very sorry for Princess Leia.

Watching the original, you don’t really have that connection as Leia does. They should film that scene at least, before he gets too old or retires.

I want to see Alderaan from Bail Organa’s point of view as he sees the Death Star come into view. He knows what’s coming after the events on Jedha and Scarif. We see a tear rolling down his face, and then the green laser hits and then nothing’s left.

Cutting to Jimmy Smits with a “well, fuck” expression during the Alderaan explosion sounds so ridiculous I wish it had been in a Special Edition.

I wouldn’t do it at all. But if I had to, it could be cool to have very cryptic, creepy 2-second shots of him sensing things through the Force. No explanation of who he is. Like maybe he feels some kind of ripple and his eyes open when Luke meets Obi Wan or tells him he wants to be a Jedi, he smiles when Alderaan gets blown up, and he looks irate when the death star is destroyed.

Not at all, but since we’re having fun, gun to my head, i would let the Emperor say Vader’s line in the final battle so it sounds like “The Force is strong with this one, my apprentice / Lord Vader” or smth. to that effecr, so they mirror Obi-Wan’s advise “Use the Force, Luke” and we would immediately know, that Vader holds a similar mentor-relationship to someone. Would be a real nice, brief mystery up until “Empire Strikes Back”. That said, I think even that would overweigh the on point-editing and storytelling of part one, opening up a new plot-thread in the middle of the final battle, where our focus lies on our heroes surviving and destroying the death star. But hey, we’re having fun here.

I was thinking where you could add the Emperor, and I think I figured it out.

The scene is when Luke returns to Obi-wan Kenobi after seeing Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru’s dead bodies. He says, “There’s nothing for me here now, I want to learn the ways of the Force and become a Jedi, like my father.”

There’s a scene wipe shortly after that, it should cut to the Emperor meditating and he opens his eyes and says, “Good…good, fulfill your destiny.” (laughs)

One idea I thought of was adding him to that meeting scene with the imperial officers. So instead of Tarkin saying that The Emperor dissolved the senate, The Emperor himself is there to announce it. And have him sitting in a chair, but not showing his face, like they did with Blofeld in the earlier James Bond movies.
Or I’d have an after credits scene where Vader goes to talk to The Emperor about how the Death Star was destroyed. He gives him a Cerveza Cristal.

All his life has he looked away… to the future, to the horizon. Never his mind on where he was. Hmm? What he was doing. Hmph!

Definitely the second one.

I would do it in a way like in the ending of the pc game “Rebel Assault II: The Hidden Empire”:

Watch at time code 3:42.

Rogue One is redundant. Just play the first mission of DARK FORCES.
