A video would be a waste on my "extensive" collection.  A single picture will do, taken a few moments ago.

2006 DVD of the 1977 theatrical version, in a generic case, with a home-made cover (the original one-sheet).  All other parts of the purchase never made it inside the house.  The day of the purchase back in 2006, they went into the trash can out by the curb.  They are now buried in a landfill somewhere far outside of town - "with the rest of the garbage".

That's daft you should have put them in a charity shop.

I thought seriously about it.  In fact, somewhere way back is my post from that day where I mentioned leaving them outside until I decided what to do.  In the end, I just couldn't help perpetuate something I don't believe is right.

As far as charity is concerned, I donated my Faces box set to charity - a retail storefront for a battered women & children shelter. I donate several times a year.  Just took my old stove and a new pair of boots over there a couple of weeks ago.  But I digress.

Daft is your opinion.  I feel otherwise.

I love that Anchorhead was first to jump on this thread.

I actually nuked my copy of ROTJ:SE.  It looked like an invisible Palpatine was using some of his dark side lightning on it.  Which it deserved.

The collection used to look like this:

But I have since sold or given away my prequels and replaced them with fan edits which I don't watch anyways.

On the left is my EditDroid collection, my collection of Laserdisc transfers from the Definitive collection and Faces set, my 5-Star Asian bootlegs of the SE's, my Official DVD's (of which I sold the prequels), the Making Of.. set with OCP's and Jambe's handiwork, OCP's Classic Editions (which are sadly outdated and soon to be replaced with dark jedi's set), ADigitalMan edits and Wookieegroomer split-screen versions, and a few other sundry editions.

Lately, the collection looks like:

That's super impressive Sluggo.

Mine is small but mighty:

On top there are Adywan's AVCHDs of TPM, ANH, and ESB. Then I have the prequels. ANHR is in the middle, one case with the Xvid, DVD5, DVD9, and Purist. The 2004 DVDs are interspersed with WookieGroomer's splitscreen 1080p WMVs. Then there's the Ewok movies, which I've never actually watched. To the right is the ESBR Rogue Workprint, which will eventually share a box with the final versions.

Sorry for the bigness, ill have to fix later

Well... that pic is mighty for sure!

IT'S MY TRILOGY, AND I WANT IT NOW!

I apologize for the obvious joke. I was going for a Stitch quote, but missed by a long shot.

I realized my pic was from the pre-Adywan days.

I've got a ton of fan edits and other projects, like the Babyhum collection.  I just don't have cases for all of them.

I have to admit that I'm a little shocked that Anchorhead seems to only like the original Star Wars, and none of the others, not even Empire.  Not that there's anything wrong with that, but I've never seen someone with that opinion in a Star Wars fan forum before.

I don't have a picture of my collection, but I'll post links to the DVD set I have, and the one VHS tape I have of the original Star Wars.

I kept the later because I figured it would be worth a decent amount of money in the future.

I heartily approve of this post and photo collection. And with the decision not to donate garbage to charity.

I don't dislike Empire, I just don't dig it enough to want to own it.  I would probably never watch it. It's been about 14 years since I last saw it.  To me, the shrinking of the universe via writer's block started with Empire. The far, far away emotion of Star Wars was lost.  I started to see the polished formula that would eventually be fully realized in Return, along with the continued shrinking of the story.  All we know of the Star Wars universe in 1977 is all I ever wanted to know. I was drawn to and moved by the vast unknown.  Lucas became obsessed with making it the tiny over-explained.

If you're new to the board, the NPR Radio presentation of Star Wars is how the story exists for me.  In fact, I'm currently listening to it for the third time this year (takes me about a week each time).  I'll start up again on Monday,  on episode 7 - The Han Solo Solution.  Truth is, I haven't watched the film version of Star Wars since the day I bought the 2006 DVD. I watched it that night and put it away. I have no desire to go back to a two-hour version of the only story I'm interested in, when I can have my 6-hour version which I happen to like better.

There's no denying my Star Wars world is different than most, but you can rest assured it's as important to me as others' are to them.

I sometimes prefer the ANH Radio version to the film version as well.  Which isn't to say I don't love the ANH film version--it's my favorite movie ever.  I just really love Daley's Star Wars.  He is the only person besides Harrison Ford to get Han Solo right.

I just started reading his Han Solo novels again after a long hiatus.  I agree.

I also prefer the Daley\NPR Solo.  He's even more selfish and untrustworthy than he is in the film.

What is it in Empire that shrinks the universe? I know you don't like Vader being Luke's father but besides that. I agree with you on ROTJ, though.

The Han Solo novels are the best SW fiction ever.

Finally listened to the NPR trilogy a year ago and it completely changed my view of SW. I can completely understand why they are Anchorhead's go-tos.
