While I won't say he really raised up The Hitcher remake, he certainly was the best aspect about that mediocre waste of effort.

Gary Cole. Didn't even know his name for years, but one of my all-time favourite actors.
It kind of upsets me when actors with comedic chops don't play to that strength and vice-versa. George Clooney is freaking hilarious, and if you don't believe me you haven't seen O Brother, Where Art Thou? Robin Williams is not, but was brilliant as a creepy villain in Insomnia and One Hour Photo.
To me he will always be Captain Giddion from the hugely underrated Crusade.
I'll have to think about my list because right now I think it would be about 500 names long.
I've edited my list to include James Earl Jones and Jaye Davidson.
How anyone can think of Gary Cole as anyone besides Lumbergh is beyond me.

It's a joke that's funny because we can all relate to assholes like that but it certainly doesn't showcase his range. I'm sure anyone could have pulled off Lumbergh just as well. It's all in the writing.
That doesn't mean I don't like the guy he's done a lot of great stuff. Can we agree to pretend he never had anything to do with the Brady Bunch?
Aside from being that guy who shows up in stuff I'd be inclined to associate him with American Gothic or Harvey Birdman....or Crusade.
I generally picture him driving around with a bobcat in the back of his car :P
