Your favorite version of the Thief

Honestly, I have to say that my favorite version is the Princess Cut, for two reasons:

1. It's complete.
2. Even though it's not as good as the Original Cuts, It's still better than Arabian Knight.

Arabian Knight all the way!

Seriously though, for the sake of my curiousity I would prefer to see the best representation of what the movie was originally intended to be, even if it were incomplete.

The restored version. Close to what's supposed to be, without korean animation and crappy songs.

Do I have to purchase a bootleg or make a download to see the restored version?

Yes, but since it's unavailable...

Tiptup, try Google video. You can even download it in mp4 format. No, not the best quality, but you can at least get the gist of how it is.

And my favorite version of thief is Aladdin (painful how simular they are, reminds me of when Disney ripped off Kimba the White Lion)

I had never even seen it before OCP recobbled cut. I am usually a fan of the directors original vision, especially when it is a case where the director had his film violently ripped from his hands in mid-production. Also I don't expect to waste anytime watching any of the other versions. They sound pretty terrible. So I guess my favorite would have to be recobbled.

Very interesting. I watched the first half and I'll have to watch the rest later. I love the animation, but the story seems a tad weak and some of the voice acting is also not the best (though Vincent Price does an awesome job). Overall I like the film. Its too bad that Warner Brothers fucked it over. They deserved to have lost a lot of money after what they did.

I should say that I watched the rest. I liked it a lot. The mechanical animation in that end sequence was amazing and incredibly amusing.

Though why did Tac's skin color instantly change half way through the film? Also, is it just me or did the brigand character designs not match the rest of the designs in the film?

Changed my mind. The Recobbled Cut is my favorite now because:

1. It's public domain
2. I can make as many copies of it so I don't lose it.

Neither of those reasons make any sense. It's not public domain. The copyright is still owned by Disney or the Weinsteins or whoever. It's nowhere close to public domain. And you can make just as many copies of that as you can of any other DVD.

Hi everybody. You’re all awesome. Keep up the good work.

Oh sorry. But it is my favorite because it's the best quality.

Nah, it's the Princess cut again. Because I can pop it in and watch it without having to worry about anything, like with ANH.
