Got my first VHDs as part of a lot that I mainly bought for The Thing (1982) and My Fair Lady (1964).
Got my first VHDs as part of a lot that I mainly bought for The Thing (1982) and My Fair Lady (1964).
Added The Creator Digital.
Added Mean Streets (1973) Criterion 4K Ultra HD & The Last Picture Show (1971) Criterion 4K Ultra HD
Added Tenchi Muyo OVA funimation blu-ray and DVD set. It is long out of print and usually sells for a hundred and fifty. I scored it for 50 bucks.
Added the first half of the OVA from the Japanese release, and the movie trilogy set was only a hundred total a steal.
Added Star Trek Strange New Worlds season 2 digital.
I also ordered some laserdiscs but apparently they got lost in the mail. Seller is looking for them. All Japan anime without any english subtitles or dubs. I’m kind of not happy because i long wanted that Outlaw Star laserdisc. The second Tenchi movie i have already so that is kind of disappointing because i was trying to build a second set to sell and keep one, but the Sailor Moon R title is so common its not a loss really its like a ten dollar or less item.
Edit: Laserdiscs arrived.
I did receive my Sailor moon disc, and my Galaxy Express Eternal fantasy. As well as my Ah My Goddess Skuld episode in CAV with all the laserdisc inserts and no OBI. And the third Tenchi Movie.
Also preordered Mando season 1 and 2 blu-ray.
Edit: Mando sets arrived shipped in nothing but a paper bag for steelbooks, miracle their was no damage. Nice art cards. Cases hold discs too hard, disks nearly impossible to get off spindle without breaking them, horrible cases. I barely managed it and put them in sleeves.
They also sent my limited anime steelbook yesterday in nothing but a paper bag and it arrived dented. I don’t recommend Amazon. Lowest prices yes, long wait to ship, always packed poorly you play nothing but the roulette wheel of luck to get your books and blu rays in acceptable condition. It was by pure luck my anime arrived from Japan in new and undamaged shape shipped in nothing more than a cardboard envelope for documents, no hard box no bubble wrap.
Added:
Godzilla Raids Again (1955), Classic Media DVD (includes US cut: Gigantis, The Fire Monster (1959))
I’m not really that much of a movie purist. I really should’ve thought my name out a bit more.
I have over 1,500 movies and tv shows on UHD, blu ray and DVD. My little brother has even more.
How about this humidity?
Added Session 2 of Cowboy Bebop with OBI. Was brand new and sealed until i opened it. Its a cool looking laserdisc. Original Japanese stereo LPCM no 5.1. Features 3 episodes of the series. I think its CLV.
Got a few for Christmas. By coincidence they all ended up being Johnny Depp movies:
Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest
Ed Wood
All his life has he looked away… to the future, to the horizon. Never his mind on where he was. Hmm? What he was doing. Hmph!
Added Tenchi Muyo THX laserdisc box. OBI, film cel everything looks good except the box has some tape damage. This was nearly as expensive as the Star Wars Definitive box with the making of trilogy. 143 plus tax.
But i have basically all the box sets i want now, except for the late reissue of the Urusei Yatsura film special collection, or Bubblegum Crisis late issue box.
Here’s what my Betamax collection looks like at the end of 2023.
Ordered Dial of Destiny 4K/Blu combo. It has an isolated score. The digital which i already have has everything this does already but i don’t mind double dipping to complete my INDY blu-ray collection. The movie was hated for no reason even before a single second of it was shot. Its fun, its retro. But no its not the best thing ever. I still think people gave Jimmy Mangold a lot of undeserved flack for this flick. And the hate on for Kathy Kennedy is sickening.

I’m not really that much of a movie purist. I really should’ve thought my name out a bit more.
Added My Fair Lady (1964) Fullscreen AC3 Laserdisc. Fullscreen Laserdiscs with AC3 are rare, and that’s why I bought this one.
Also added the 2008 UCE Blu-Ray of Casablanca (1942) and Criterion Laserdisc of Sling Blade (1996).
Gave the Skynet Edition of Terminator 2 to a friend (keeping the 2015 edition for my Blu-Ray copy)

Added 4 Kid Favorites: Looney Tunes Features DVD, The Thing CED and Looney Tunes Platinum Collection Vol. 3 Blu-Ray
Got release day delivery on OBI-WAN on Blu-Ray. Andor was out of stock so i got it from Deep Discount. Waiting on that. I already have Mando season 1 and 2 and haven’t even watched more than the first episode off the Blu-Ray or second episode? Once i have a 4k tv set and player in a week or two i don’t know if its worth rebuying these. I have select things in 4K i bought at a discount with combo packs. Disney are cheapskates for their not being a 4K/BLU combo. And the overall price for the number of episodes is crazy. Cost me like 111 bucks just for Andor and OBI-WAN, take off the tax and shipping and its close to 90 its absurd. And Mando cost me about the same so 200 bucks for 4 shows/seasons.
Added
Looney Tunes: Stars of Space Jam Japanese Laserdisc
Raiders of the Lost Ark 4K
The Conversation Blu-Ray
Pre-Ordered
The Boy and the Heron 4K Steelbook
Sold
Half of my Beta collection
Willow THX Laserdisc taking a shot on this one it may arrive broken in the mail or unplayable due to laser rot. the common price on this now of 25 dollars is also too high but i paid it anyway.
I’m also trying to get American Graffiti THX laserdisc but only if the seller comes down on the price, 30 is too much. Its a very common title, i’d pay that for the signature collection but this isn’t that one with the cgi sunset its the 78 theatrical.
Edit: i just said the hell with it and i was determined to watch the movie so i paid 30 dollars for American Graffiti, very high even for a sealed copy.
So other than the signature collection, the Japanese THX releases of Graffiti, i have every Lucasfilm THX title. Except for the THX Wow disc.
