Added the 4K version of 1917 to my collection. Also weeded most of my CEDs, leaving only Wrath of Khan, Ghostbusters, China Syndrome, Race For Your Life Charlie Brown and Jewel of the Nile.

Added War of the Worlds (Criterion Blu-Ray) and my first Indicator discs, Charley Varrick, 7th Voyage of Sinbad and Golden Voyage of Sinbad.
I added Spirited Away Gkids blu ray to my collection.
As for CED i have star wars and empire and return of the jedi, with no way to play them. Just like for no reason whatsoever i have Pal Laserdiscs of Star Wars and Return of the Jedi and the Star Wars trilogy, and no Pal player. Just because i like to collect things. I’m looking for the VHD copies of the films as well. And also i have no player.
I also added a factory sealed copy of My Neighbor Totoro on Laserdisc from Nikaku anime shop. At 30 dollars it was too much to pass up. No English language options but i don’t care, i have another copy that does have a dub.

How dare you weed the Batman: TAS DVDs in favor of the BD set.

trekcore had some screencaps of Deep Space Nine on DVD. I have held off on buying the complete series because i was waiting for it in HD.
I guess i will be adding the DVD set next just out of a curiosity over the video quality. The BBC America Broadcast was horrible for the first two seasons, the DVD has to be better than that.
I no longer have my tapes but i taped each episode as it aired, and that was what the BBC broadcast looked like. Low quality resolution probably no more than 240 lines like a VHS tape.
Only recently have the prices come down on the blu ray sets for example that i could even remotely endeavor to collect them, or the complete DVD collections. Paramount has always inflated the prices for Star Trek going back to the old Columbia House days. I still have some of those tapes.

The BD appears to be an over-DNR’d, over-brightened flat picture with inaccurate color. One of these is not like the others.
That said, I’m going off of just the opening since that’s what I saw posted when the set came out and it immediately put me off from spending any money on that.

Ah, I see.
I’m aware the colours are a bit different. I do prefer the colours of the older master(s), but the difference isn’t too great to bother me.
As for DNR … *shrug*
At the end of the day, it’s the entire series + the two spinoff movies; I wasn’t gonna past it up when I only had Volume 1 of Season 1 on DVD.
Mm, if all you had was one volume then yeah, I can see the value in picking it up.

“Heroes come in all sizes, and you don’t have to be a giant hero. You can be a very small hero. It’s just as important to understand that accepting self-responsibility for the things you do, having good manners, caring about other people - these are heroic acts. Everybody has the choice of being a hero or not being a hero every day of their lives.” - George Lucas

I spent over $15 on that Friday the 13th collection. Seeing as I have no intention on keeping the discs with Parts 6-8, and previously owned Part 3 on DVD, it was likely an unwise expenditure.

A year after giving away my entire Star Wars collection, here I am, buying ANH:GOUT once again. I’m such the fickle mistress.
P.S.: I threw the first disc straight in the trash.
I’ve never seen American Gothic, never even heard of it before last week, but I like Gary Cole and '90s horror, so I figured I’d take a chance on it. Hope I enjoy it.
Added 4K version of 2001 to my collection. I plan to sell the Blu-Ray and DVD of 2001, but keep the Criterion Laserdisc. I also added a Blu-Ray of 2010 and the original DVD of A Clockwork Orange. I then weeded the HD-DVD of the latter film.
Upgraded Bridge on the River Kwai and Guns of Navarone to a Double Feature Blu-Ray set.

I only bought the third disc of that Ultimate Horror Collection set as it included a copy of Carnival of Souls, which I’ve long wanted to own. Being an obvious public domain release, I expected the worst, figuring the quality would be absolute shit, but its a surprisingly decent transfer.

My previously owned copy of Stargate: Ultimate Edition included only the director’s cut. The replacement is the 2-disc set which includes both the theatrical & director’s cuts. I’d prefer to get the newer BD release, but beggars can’t be choosers.
I added the CBS/FOX Laserdisc of Capricorn One to my collection. I weeded my DNR heavy Blu-Ray of Pinocchio. I am keeping the Classics VHS with Black Cauldron Trailer, Classics Restored Demo VHS and the Limited Issue DVD of Disney’s second animated masterpiece.
Just got the concert Blu-Ray Williams: Live in Vienna, which contains new recordings of many iconic themes including The Imperial March, Hedwig’s Theme and Adventures on Earth.
I added the Japan CAV release of Cinderella on Laserdisc, and the US release of Snow White CAV. I’m not the biggest Disney person but for under 20 dollars i figured what the hell.
I just upgraded Force Awakens to 4K. I also got the 2015 Lionsgate Blu-Ray of Terminator 2, the only competent HD release of the film.
