Again, I wouldn't just torrent them regardless. If you want to send one disc to me or something, we can compare quality.

"Indy Jones Chronicles are currently being cleaned up, are having documentaries added to them and will be shopped as “films for a modern day high school history class.” He’s [Lucas] hoping they’re released on DVDs very soon."

Boy.....I just can't see anything good coming out of *that*, given all the political-correctness hoops such a project would have to jump through.

This is a series I've never had the chance to see. Looks like a rental for sure.

Hi

Did you ever post these anywhere. i've been looking all over to try and get a copy of the original format episodes with the bookends. i know that the reedited dvd's are now to be released which i will buy but i really really want a copy of the episodes in the original format.

can anyone help?

Yeah, i agree. I purchased the box set a week back. While i love the set, and the included documentaries,
i'm not happy with the editing, and would have liked to see the 'old indy' bookends.

Nice to see someone else is still interested.

i reckon theres still an interest for these. most of the threads on the internet about getting a copy of these by fellow fans seem to have died. maybe the release of the dvd's in the reedited format will reinvigerate people to preserve an original copy of the series. It seems some of you guys may have already managed this and if so i would love to get hold of a copy.

I second that motion. I followed a few threads trying to find someone willing to share, but I think the impending release of the DVD held folks back. I agree, and hope, the DVD's reedit once again rekindles interest in the original broadcast cuts.

I have every episode on DVD minus the 4 unaired ones

* 41: Tangiers 1908 (Aired: 0/0/0)
* 42: Morocco 1917 (Aired: 0/0/0)
* 43: Palestine, October 1917 (2) (Aired: 0/0/0)
* 44: Princeton 1919 (Aired: 0/0/0)

I have all the other broadcast versions. Nice menus and stuff too... anyone have those four episodes?

thanks digitalfreak

thats great news.

i can't wait for the torrents. i'd love to see all the bookends. i've seen quite a few from watching the original series but i don't think i've seen them all. i think they really added to the feel of the show especially the ones like the october revolution one and the one where he explains what happened to the boy they saved in africa.

i have several of the old shows recorded from when they originally aired but i'm pretty sure the qualitys not very good. i'm not sure if i have the missing episodes but i think they aired over here in the UK so i may have them. they're over at my folks house so next time i'm there i'll dig them out and have a look for you. if i've got them i'll have a go at converting them to dvd for you. i'm no expert in this field so i wouldn't be able to clean them on on the conversion i think they would pretty much be straight copies form the copied vhs.

So if anyones got better quality copies i'd recomend getting them off them first. i'll definatly have a look though to see if i have them and what the quality is like.

would you be able to trade / sell / torrent or someway enable me to get a copy of the episodes you have?

If you'd like to send them to me, I'll include them in the torrent, with credit to you. I'm in the US so I obviously wouldn't have the episodes that only aired in the UK.

I was over at my folks at the weekend fixing my car so i dug out alll the old vhs copies i have and took them home. i haven't had time yet to sit down and go through them to see what episodes i have, but i'll be sure to let you know soon as i have.

if i have any of the missing episodes you need i'll gladly run a copy off for you. as i said before though i can't be sure of the quality.

Is it true that this set was all chopped-up and really bad?

I could go for some DVDs of this the way they were originally shown. I just can't understand why Lucas won't just give us what we ask for.

Anywhere I can find the original episodes torrented, preferably in sets of DVD-5 or DVD-9 (VIDEO_TS) files? I can't seem to find them anywhere, just rips of the new reedited DVDs.

hi

have you torrented these yet? all the box sets are now out which i own but they haven't included the bookends as i expected. i'd really like to see them again. to be honest i'd like to get copies of the episodes as they were originally aired but if thats not possible it'd be great to just see the bookends again. i have some on old vhs copies but not all of them and not good quality. so if anyone can help it'd be great to hee from you.

i've just tried to go on myspleen to check to see if you were torrenting them but my login seems to have disapeared. it just says username doesn't exist. maybe its because i've not logged on for quite a while.

if anyone has an invite i'd really apreciate it.

thanks

I've since found the first season (6 or 7 episodes, can't remember), and about 3 episodes from season 2 in their original aired form, in the form of 320x240 DivX files. They're quite watchable - I just need to find the rest of season 2 and the 4 TV-movies (and, perhaps, the 4 unaired episodes) and I'll be set.

The Season 1 episodes can be found on Demonoid - don't remember where I found the Season 2 eps.

I recently got the official Young Indy DVDs and watched them all. it's a pretty fun show.

I'd love to see the original bookends though!

I picked up volume three and really like some of the episodes. They're terribly slow though. Each episode could definitely be whittled down to an hour (instead of two) without really losing much of anything.

Sean Patrick Flannery is likable and does a good job as young Indy. The series suffers, however, from bad editing and sluggish pacing.

It's interesting to see the guest appearances...especially by Ian McDiarmid and Christopher Lee. And I think Carrie Fisher actually wrote the episode with Mata Hari.

It's worth seeing, though I think a lot of people simply wouldn't have the patience for it.

They need a good edit.

i like a lot of episodes more than the

films........that is 'temple of doom' and

'the last crusade'...

there's a lot more depth and history here,

only the first 'indiana jone's movie lived up

to the name....and the fourth movie is still

better than the second and third...

later
