...and that's what Lucas is trying to do! I just finished watching the ESB DVD, and I feel like I felt walking out of Phantom Menace. Trying to improve on the Special Editions is like trying to kill a dead horse! I don't even want to watch Jedi at all now. Not even for a laugh. I am really depressed and losing all hope. Lucas has lost it! These DVD's are terrible. Maybe we can persuade George W. Bush to invade the ranch and capture Lucas!

What's terrible in Empire is simply the new Emperor, Boba Fett's new voice and what was done in the SE, if you didn't like those. But would it have killed em to get James Earl Jones to record that line that was added in the SE?? Empire's my favorite movie, it always will be. I have to sit through some pretty retarded additions and changes, but in the end I still love it.

I also don't like the overall look of the films. The color is too saturated, the levels are too dark, and the audio is a whole new issue.

the most annoying thing about the new emperor scene, is how easy it would have been to do it right , yet they managed to fuck it up completely, if they had simply recreated the original scene with Ian Mcdiarmid with the original dialogue, identical camerashots, and the emperor kept hidden under hood ala Sidious in the prequals, there'd be no complaints.

Thats the thing with changes to the films that really pisses me off. Well besides the fact that most of the changes are on a whole new plane of stupid. When i watch them it seems like they were just thrown together, not given a second thought. Like the Jabba scene, Han steps on the hutt with his armed guards standing around???? GL is always grand standing on how he is a perfectionist and how these movies are his babies and he wants to see them like he did in his mind. THen why the piss poor effort georgy?

The new Emperor scene makes it obvious that Lucas' new work can simply never compare with the old stuff. The dialogue, makeup, and the scene overall just sucks. It's just Palpatine staring at you and occasionally moving his lips.
