I think its really funny that no one on this board is actually going to buy them.  I understand completely why, its just funny that we're sitting here saying "Someone tell us whats on these!"  I should buy them for my parents just so I can see for myself.  And then replace them with Revisited.

Those of us who really wanted them bought them when they were released in '06 (like myself) and those who didn't buy them out of principle (or other reasons) - still aren't going to buy them.

well, i wouldn't say 'no one' is buying them,

because i am (ok maybe used/discounted)...

because i'm more of a collector, and just want

to have all the different versions/releases etc..

i still have a lot of PAL sets/NTSC sets/laserdisc sets etc,

i still haven't gotten around to watching!!! (including the FULL screen

pan and scan versions).

Apparently not! I was just browsing through targets weekly ad on their website, and they are selling the PT set for $24.99, 50% off its suggested retail price! How often does that happen for a set released a mere month or so before? Also take note that it is only the "Prequel Trilogy" not the actual "Star Wars Trilogy" (LFL's labeling, not mine) that is being sold at half off. This means something... not sure what... but it must mean something...

At this point i would not even take these sets if someone offered them to me free and unopened as they are a waste of the discs the movies are burned to, and the paper and cardboard used for the boxes. 

You would even have a hard time making money off of selling them on ebay as almost everyone already has these who wanted them.

Seriously no fixed Blu Ray release for those 2004 saga fans, or even a restored original theatrical trilogy on dvd or blu ray for us oot purists.  Basically Lucas knows how not to please his fans.

He could write a book on how to fuck over your fan base and not give them what they want.

How many of these worthless pieces of shit do you want to bet are going to end up in landfills and being bad for the environment.  Gee you figure a liberal like Lucas would care about that,lol.

i don't know how much you count amazon sales,

but on their bestsellers list (in the UK)..

the new original trilogy is at 14, and the PT is at 26 for the years in

current sales..

also ranking for the OT

i should have been clearer,

those statistics are for both the NEW OT boxed set, and the NEW PT boxed sets.

i'm pretty sure they'll stop stocking the older ones from now one, and just carry

these new sets.

Yeah, the old four disc set is discontinued. Though I am sure we will still be seeing them on stores shelves occasionally, since so many of them were produced.

When I went to Target the week they were released, I noticed that there were several PT sets on the shelf, but only one OT set. FWIW.

Amazon recently had a sale on the OT set for $29.99 but it's back up to $32.99 now.
