X-Men 3

So, after thoroughly enjoying the last two installments, I've been waiting a pretty long time for X3. A couple of weeks ago, a full trailer was released, and I figured you guys would be interested.

Obviously, a few new characters are going to be appearing. Most notable are Angel and Beast (about time we got these two). Beast is going to be played by Kelsey Grammar. That's right, Frasier is Beast!

Kelsey Grammar actually looks pretty badass as Beast! For some more pictures, check out the IMDB page.

Now, as for the trailer, there are several places you can find it. I'll provide two different links: here and here.

Release date: 26th May 2006.

Both the X-Men movies were one-offs for me. I wantched them once, and then let them off. Don't get me wrong. I enjoyed them both, but X-Men was never my cup of tea. I look forward to this one, but I'm not near as excited as my brother is.

I keep hearing that features about Wolverine and Magneto are in the works, with Wolverine's being the most likely right now. Jackman is allegedly on board for it.

Now, I like Ian McKellan. He and Patrick Stewart were the highlights of the X-Men movie franchise for me.

Yeah, I've definitely heard about the Wolverine movie. They already have an IMDB page for it.

To be honest, I'm not a big fan of the X-Men films. Great visual style, very slick, but there's too much Wolverine (who just started his own production company, Seed Productions) and not enough ensemble action. Plus they virtually ignore Cyclops, one of my three personal favorite X-Men (the others being Beast and Colossus), and Cyclops is the friggin' field leader of the X-Men for God's sake!

Oh yeah, and Anna Pacquin sucks as Rogue.

But I'll go see X3 just to see the Beast/Hank McCoy.
I'd like a qui-gon jinn please with an Obi-Wan to go.

Red heads ROCK. Blondes do not rock. Nuff said.

Be careful GC, some folk may get mad over that joke.

Well, if the previous two movies serve as any kind of guide, there's going to be plenty of "spot that x-man!" going on. So, Gambit may be in it for all we know. But even if he is, I doubt he'd have anymore screen time than Colossus did in X2.

Yeah, yeah.. I know!

But if any knows the character's roots... aww... nevermind!

But speaking of Gambit- two thoughts:

1) I can't see the film Rogue with Gambit. Are they ever still together in the comics?

2) He's probably too 'Wolvie-ish' so until the next batch of X-films comes out I doubt we'll see much more than an aforementioned cameo.

I certainly understand people's frustration about the focus on Wolverine and such, but I have to say I always enjoy watching X-men I and II when they are on. They are overall very well written films with great cause and effect, and the subtle interplay between Stewart and McClellan is fantastic (I believe Stewart would have made an excellent Mr. Freeze in Batman Forever, but it certainly wouldn't have saved that film from.....well, itself.)

Watching Picard and Gandalf argue is probably the best part of the X-Men films, in terms of story and characterizations.

No kidding. Though Gandalf technically came after McKellan's first go as Magneto.

"WIZARD MAGAZINE HAD CAST PATRICK STEWART AS MR. FREEZE."

LOL, did it really? I guess I can say I'm in good company (though I've never read that magazine.) I thought this before Batman came out, and when I heard Schwarzeneggar had the role, I knew the film was going to flop. Nothing against Arnold per se - it just indicated the direction that the film was going in.

I think he was a "spot the x-man" in #2, or at least his name was, wasn't it? IN the list of registered mutants that flashes by?
