X-MEN 3 PSYCHO REVIEW — Page 2

I know nothing about the comics or the cartoon show. Never read them, never saw them.

I do, however, love the movies. I've got the first 2 on DVD and saw X3 this past weekend. I thought it was great. I did feel that it was a bit short, but not too bad.

*Spoilers*

The only thing that I hated was the scene where Magneto dumps the Golden Gate Bridge on the shore and it is dusk outside, and then the scene cuts to troops running out of the building and now it's magically midnight outside! Yeah.... Piss poor editing there fellas.

But I thought the movie was good. I don't know why Scott was killed off so early in the film, though. I mean he's there for 4 minutes, cries about Jean, and then is dead. And we don't even get to see him die. WTF?!

i saw the movie last night with a friend and we both thought it was really good. i had already read in some magazine that Hugh Jackman was signed on for another movie, so i went in there knowing it wasn't the end. i would say i liked it just as much as X1 and X2. i watched X2 the night before to recap what was going on. but you don't even really need to know anything from the previous movies except jean dying and stuff.

*SPOLIER TALK*
I was really pissed about Rouge coming back to the school even though she 'lost' her mutant powers. like why would she be there if she wasn't a mutant anymore? and she said she did it for herself and not for bobby... i say lost because well you saw what happened to Magneto at the end. i'm only guess he will return with mystique one day. the end clip after the credits at first confused me, but then my friend pointed out that charles was teaching a class about ethics earlier and i then understood what was going on. i was sad to see that the Angel wasn't in a ton of shots, he sure was one good looking X-man.

hahaha yeah i noticed that, oh well what can you do, the whole idea of breaking the bridge felt like over kill.

as for rogue at the end i dont think the cure is a 100% cure, and so in the next movie she will get some of her powers back. its possible in the next movie she gets her powers back when she kills miss america, and learns how to fly and what not.

did you watch the scene at the very very end? HLF.

on other thing i noticed about the movie that made me laugh, that girl that played ghost girl or who ever she is, was the whiny daughter of the main charater in my favorite show regenesis, so it was funny seeing her in that role.

yes chaltab i thought scotty's death was pretty bad and really sudden.

that is QUITE the list of deleted scenes. they could have extended the movie, apparently it was only 1hr and 50 min. they could have pushed it to 2 hr and 20 min if they really wanted i doubt ppl would have complained.

It's the politics. James Marsden is working with Bryan Singer in Superman Returns. Did you really think they were going to treat him right?

really? who does he play in superman returns?
james marsden has such nice eyes, it was a shame he had to play scott and wear those sunglasses.

Wait a second. Cyclops dies?! Forgive my Marvel Universe ignorance, but isn't he the leader of the X-Men? Do these movies even remotely follow the comic universe at all? I haven't seen any of the movies, but from the trailers, they all seem to be Wolverine-fests with a little bit of Captain Picard (I know he's Professor Xavier...) mixed in there.

Yeah, Wolverine is pretty much the main character through the three movies. Well, maybe him or Magneto. Xavier does alright too, and Jean and Storm are given plenty of screen time.

Cyclops is the leader in the comics, but he mostly gets the shaft in the movies, coming across as a jealous jerk or hopelessly dependent on Jean Grey.

yeah that was on thing that they changed, it seems that they reversed the roles of cyclops and wolverine in the movies. i guess thats cause everyone loved wolverine.

He's more of a badass cocky guy and that works well as a lead guy (especially in this kind of gruop) better than the sensitive guy that gets depressed when his girlfriend dies. Plus, I think Wolverine is actually more in love with Jean Grey, it's just more repressed because Scott was in the way kind of. I thought X3 made this decently clear.

I read very few of he comics and only saw some of the show as a younger person, so I took the movies as something more stand-alone using the comics as a reference instead of a guide. I think these movies are better than most other big comic book adaptions (Spiderman, Fantastic 4, The Hulk) and it's because they don't stick to the comics so closely, they make their own identity. I don't think disregarding the source completely is a good idea, but making a new story is moe interesting to me.

Hey look, a bear!

Cool. I was disapointed that he "died" the way he did. I mean, if they are going to kill off a main character, at least have the sense to show us his death.

But we see his headstone at the end next to Jean's and the professors. Did they edit that part out of the international cut? I didn't like how they played his charecter down so much in the films. He hardly had any screen time in X2.

Whooo. Even more spoilers. Good thing I'm not that interested in the X-Men movies, or this would really be getting on my nerves.

But if they deviate from the comics that dramatically, I'm not sure I want to see it.

THE X-MEN PRESUME THAT SCOTT IS DEAD. THEY DON'T KNOW THAT HE WAS FOUND BY SOMEBODY ELSE.

This is getting kinda complicated. Is this supposed to be a plot thread to be resolved in an X4? If so, it seems the International Version ruined it by destroying the surprise.

What's the point in having 2 versions? So I am seeing a different film to my friends in England? So gay.

War does not make one great.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking too. It's just the Special Editions on a smaller scale. Whatever happened to just one movie? Do you see Gone with the Wind in several different versions? Hopefully not!

This is the main reason I don't really like the X-Men movies. I like the X-Men and the whole concept of the X-Men, but the movies are not true X-Men movies, they're Wolverine movies that just happen to feature the X-Men as secondary characters. The first X-Men film may as well have been called Wolverine and X2 may just as well been called Wolverine 2: Wolverine Kicks Some Ass. As a Cyclops fan, I was very pissed at how badly they treated him in the films. I don't blame James Marsden; they gave him almost nothing to work with. I'm really sick of Wolverine at this point; just wish Superman would show up already and fling Wolvie into space and hear him scream as he goes through the atmosphere. .
I'd like a qui-gon jinn please with an Obi-Wan to go.

Red heads ROCK. Blondes do not rock. Nuff said.

Hey DAYV are you sure about that scene with Scott in the hospital? Where did you hear about it? I have been searching online and there are rumors of four different endings, but every site says that they are rumors and have not been confirmed. I am starting to think it is false because everytime I hear the endings decribed they are different. Example: one place says Scott wakes up in a hospital, another says it shows a scene of the dam and a red light bursts out of it and the screen goes to black.
