X-MEN 3 PSYCHO REVIEW

Time
I WENT TO THE PREMIER OF X-MEN 3. I WANTED TO SHARE MY REVIEW OF THE MOVIE WITH EVERYBODY HERE.

THE FIRST THING THAT YOU SHOULD DO BEFORE WATCHING THIS MOVIE IS TO TOTALLY FORGET THE COMIC BOOKS. SECOND, FORGET EVERYTHING YOU KNOW ABOUT THE DARK PHOENIX SAGA.

THE MOVIE ITSELF WAS GREAT. I WENT IN WITH LOW EXPECTATIONS, AND I WAS PLEASED WITH THE OUTCOME OF THE FILM. HOWEVER, I WAS EXTREMELY DISPLEASED WITH THE MOVIE SCORE. IT NEVER HIT YOU ON AN EMOTIONAL LEVEL AS A FILM SCORE SHOULD. AT TIMES THE SCORE WAS RATHER DISTRACTING TO THE VIEWER, AND AT TIMES IT JUST WASN'T APPROPRIATE FOR THE SCENE. THERE ARE QUITE A FEW SHOCKERS THROUGHOUT THE FILM WHICH KEPT THE VIEWER'S INTEREST. I WOULD GIVE THIS FILM A FOUR OUT OF FIVE.

IMPORTANT !!!

STAY FOR THE END CREDITS AS THERE IS A BONUS SCENE AT THE END.

amigos.... I had the chance of visiting the set of X3 back in September 2005.

it was in Vancouver... and the scene they were filming was the part where magneto talks to the brotherhood.
"They wish to cure us." etc. I got to talk to the cast and crew (most of whom where nice, some were jerks).

and I've visited the X-Jet before the cast got there (wich I think was cool), the Facility where the mutants are held in (where magneto destroys the bridge at),
and the Xavier Mansion hall way place, as well as the X1 bar... and the oval office wich is mysteriously yellow...

I haven't seen the film yet... hope it's good... but seeing Brett Ranter direct was, well... kind of boring. I'm not really THAT excited (even though I enjoyed X1 and 2)
... too bad it's released... I wanted to say: "Sentinels are going to be in it!" but what ever...

what I found out was that the less popular the person is, the nicer he/she is.

The stand-ins for Wolverine and Jean were very talkative and polite, sound guys are great,
stuntmen listen to you when you talk, and make you feel welcome. Ian McKellen was nice too (if not alittle weird).

Whereas the main brotherhood gang (Calipto, Pyro guy, ect.) ignore whatever I said, and complain alot.
Some guy when I was talking to made fun of what I said, dangit... I was trying to talk about how it would have been better to have blue-screened Juggernaut into the frame, making him bigger, to give him a more imposing and more indestructible feel to him. He just said "I wish they blue-screened me in and made me look bigger!"

I would have to say that I pretty much agree with DAYV's review. I saw the 10pm showing on 05/26 cause the 8:15 showing I was gonna go to was sold out Anyway, while watching the movie, I'll be completely honest and say I didn't really listen to the music, like I didn't even notice it. I honestly can't remember if I heard it, yes I know sad. Now I don't know if that was because, like DAYV said, the music never hit you on an emotional level or I was just to caught up in the movie.

Going to the movie, I thought it was a really good movie. Like DAYV said, forget the comics & I guess forget everything you know about the dark phoenix saga, although I don't really remember anything about it myself . But there are definitely some shockers that will catch you extremely off guard and by surprise. And as DAVY said, IMPORTANT: Stay till after the credits.

On another note, they had a trailer for Ghost Rider which looked pretty good to me. Hope you all enjoy the movie and hope you don't have a group of immature teens and kids sit next to you that talk throughout the whole film like I did

I thought it was pretty good. Like DAYV I had low expectations, but I ended up really liking it. I had given up on comic/movie comparisons after the 2nd one came out.

Can I come with you?

I went to an advance test screening of J&SBSB. I was the only one who laughed at the 'worst idea since Greedo shooting first' gag. It was one of those moments where everyone turns and looks, bemused at why you're laughing. Cretins.

I just saw it. I didn't care for it that much. I don't really know why. Like, I can't point out anything that was wrong with it. But through almost the entire movie, I was more interested in getting home and playing video games. It bored me, honestly. There were a few parts where I thought they had some cool ideas, but overall, I was just looking forward to getting out of the theater.

It's really weird, because, unlike other movies that bored me, I don't really know if there was anything TERRIBLY WRONG with this one. It seemed like they handled everything pretty well, and there's nothing really to complain about. So, even though it didn't grab my attention, I'm sure most people will probably enjoy it.

Well, I know next to nothing about X-Men(I've always been a DC guy), but I thought this movie kicked ass. Many unexpected deaths, and it seemed like it never let up from beginning till the end.

I'm going to see it again for sure, and this time I'll stay till after the credits.

BTW, has anyone seen the Medicom Wolverine?

I agree with you there - Vinnie Jones (who is a bloddy footballer, not an actor, BTW) looks small and weedy compared to how Juggernaut should look. He basically looks like a soccer player in a rubber body suit. Which is what he is.)

The Premieres are in Dallas? Surely they would be in Hollywood, in which case you would have to come to me...

hey, I watched X-3 now, and I can tell you it's no where near as good as the previous films where...

where the first two were wide-ranging and fun to watch,
this film was shorter, alot more simple, and nothing really special.

The jokes were mediocre and just dropped in... it's as if the filmmakers where saying "Here's a joke. Okay that was the joke."
whereas the previous films had more fluid and interwoven humor across the film, besides a few.

This film was dark and not very fun to watch, Juggernaut I was most displeased with, not much focus was given to Angel, Beast, or any other
characters except maybe Xavier, Jean, Magneto, and Wolverine... couldn't they make it more complex?

The movie was also pretty short. X1 and 2 were longer pictures and had more interesting situations.
Whereas this movie was just "Anti-X-gene found. Phoenix rises. Magneto fights. X-Men stop him and Phoenix."

Brett Ratner also isn't very good at situations and characters... all of wich where really direct and simple in terms
of what each character does in a situation, ect.

The design for Juggernaut wasn't good either... he hardly looks like his comic-book counterpart. (I know it's to give him a realistic feel)
but it just wasn't impressive enough.

The action scenes weren't much either... sure, Phoenix does some cool things, but whenver someone gets killed by her, they turn into
Windows 98 screensaver ball explosion particles!

I liked the magneto thing where he *SPOILER SORT OF*kinda movies his metal chess piece at the end.

All in all I'd give it a 5.5 out of 10, whereas the previous Xs where 8.0 out of 10.

for me it's the Terminator 3, Jurassic Park 3, and Blade: Trinity, of the X-Men series... only slightly less dumb. Credit to the writers on that one.

ok well i can see why Xmen fans would HATE this movie. i personally didnt mind it at all, its a new fresh look at the series, who wants to watch the cartoons or comics again. And its not like the changes are bad, they are jsut different. what happened with Professor X, wow i couldnt beleive it until 5 mins after it happened.

what's funny is... that I've never read any X-Men or any other comics at all... ever....

I get my info on characters and stories on the internet and those funky DK X-Men, Spider-Man, Superman, guides!

and the movies too...

It is the same 104 minutes as the first film.

I enjoyed this movie. I'm not a reader of the comic books, so everything is new to me.
