Would the ROTS novelization have made the film better?

There are quite a few differences from the ROTS novelization to the mixed bag that is the final film in the prequel. The fight between Windu/Palpatine is extended, we get to see into Anakin's mindset more between scenes (such as wanting to rule the galaxy, his declining mental state), as well as increased characterizations of Dooku, Grievous, and Mace Windu. For those who have read the novelization, would it have made the film better if it was adapted?

Rogue One is redundant. Just play the first mission of DARK FORCES.
The hallmark of a corrupt leader: Being surrounded by yes men.
‘The best visual effects in the world will not compensate for a story told badly.’ - V.E.S.
‘Star Wars is a buffet, enjoy the stuff you want, and leave the rest.’ - SilverWook

Abso-freaking-lutely.  That novel is a masterpiece.  Matthew Stover seriously made Revenge of the Sith a hell of a heartbreaking, powerful, engaging story.

And proof that ONE script revision may have saved everything...

Better, yes. I don't know if it would have been good, but definately better.

I remember reading it in 2005.

Yes, I think would have helped the film. Almost anything that would have developed the characters more would have enhanced the fiilm. It's been awhile, but I'm pretty sure there was more about Yoda, communing with Qui Gon's spirit in the novel too. I know that was cut from the film, but I really though it was needed in the film since force ghosts are such an important part of the original trilogy.

Have't read the novel but I have no doubt that it would be better just because Lucas isn't a very good writer and he openly admits this. When I read "Darth Plagueis" I literally threw Phantom Menace out the window, realizing that Star Wars can be handled so much better in hands other than Lucas. For me Darth Plaguies is Episode 1 and I have heard so much about the ROTS novel yet I love the movie so I'm a little hesistant to read it but I just may have to if it's that much better...

George Lucas didn't write the novel. It was only based on a version of a script he wrote.

Now I have the amusing image of some guy tossing a menacing phantom out his window in my head.
