Will There be Further Changes to the 09/12 SE Discs?

I have been wondering about this because it seems like Lucas always has a surprise with each version released. Will the mistakes (i.e. different colored lightsabers, audio problems in SW, etc.) be fixed on the SE discs? Will Lucas add even more changes this time around?!? Maybe he will subtract a few?!? What do you think?

I've been wondering that too. As I've said, as long as Lucas makes high-quality versions of the originals available, I'm all for his following his "original vision." But what is his "original vision?" I'm not sure and apparently, neither is he. He'll have a hard time saying that the 2004 versions "don't exist" when so many people own them. Lucas is digging himself a bit of a hole here.

From the ep III dvd we know he is changing Yoda in The Phantom Menace. There were also clips shown of Leia and Vader on the Tantive IV. I thought they were not as blue cast as the current dvd's, even after I set my tv's color to max. Did anyone else see this?

It has been said that the 9/12 SE discs are exactly the same as the '04 discs. One theory says that this all is partially an inventory reduction move. Maybe Lucasfilm/Fox way overproduced the '04 discs and need rid of them. I don't think there will be any further changes at this point. Perhaps for the next release, such as the rumored '07 super-duper-extra-special edition anniversary saga boxset.

I don't think they'll be changed any. They have stated that these will be the '04 versions, the same as what appeared in '05 as well. The fact that they acknowledge that the '04 editions and '97 editions are two separate entities is enough proof to me that, if they were to be changing things, they would have said something. As it is, their main (well, only) draw to this set is that it has the theatrical cuts with them (despite the PR bull that states the main reason is that they are releasing the movies separately for the first time, their marketing campaign speaks otherwise), even though they're of inferior quality and on Disc 2 of all places!

Not that that is going to stop you from dreaming… Only in this case, Gaffer is actually a guy.

Perhaps some people knew that it wouldn't be the OOT and didn't buy it.

he's too lazy to make any quality control of any sort on any of his releases.

These are probalbly the same as the last two times because they made too many and are sitting in a warehouse collecting dust. To clear them out he offers a sub standard release of the oot, nothing more than an official bootleg version mastered from the same source as the laserdiscs, but not the laserdiscs themselves. And he calls them bonus material and wants us to kiss his ass for releasing them this way. what a puke.

That little phrase sums up GL and/or this entire situation very nicely. I laughed out loud when I read it.

Outside of his comments about findout whether or not people really wanted these versions (no George, we've just been spending tons of money on LDs instead of buying cheap DVDs for our health), Lucas has hardly said anything about the situation at all. Yet.

Lucas said during EPIII production that they were going to fix the 'vanishing' window in ESB for future releases. He had never noticed it before until watching ESB as part of the production stuff. Anyways, where or not this is considered a 'future release' is beyond me.

See this page. (look for the OOOPS comments!)

Han: Hey Lando! You kept your promise, right? Not a scratch?
Lando: Well, what’s left of her isn’t scratched. All the scratched parts got knocked off along the way.
Han (exasperated): Knocked off?!
