Sounds like you're interested in doing mental gymnastics to have it all make sense. Either way, I think GL introduced the concept of the 'rule of two' to explain something which has *kind of* puzzled me, even within the OT. When Darth Sidious assumed control of the Galactic Empire, why didn't Sith teachings thrive under his rule? I suppose he didn't want any challenge to his power, but still...
