Why Hayden's acting in ROTJ was bad... — Page 2

Yep, there's music up until he crashes on the island. Then it's gone. It doesn't come back until he's on the raft either with the whale watching him or when Wilson floats away. It's one of those two points.

I didn't noticed it, in both Cast Away and The Birds. Maybe because the directors were so good they kept the movie flow in a way that you don't need the "emotion" of a soundtrack to help. Or maybe because we are used to hearing music while watching a movie, and if you think about it, it's weird, I mean, where is that music coming from?

That's just it. If the directing, acting, and writing are powerful enough, there are instances when you don't need music to help build the emotion. both Zemeckis and Hitchcock did that to great effect in those two films. I can't believe I just mentioned Zemeckis and Hitchcock in the same sentence. Wow.

The bastard doesn't even appear to feel bad for the disrespect dished out to Sebastian Shaw.

Here's hoping Christensen burns in hell for it.

Oh and yes, models are vastly superior to CGI.

Amen brotha!

While I agree that it seems like Hayden had no prior knowledge of being inserted into ROTJ, I agree that he does seem rather unapologetic about the end result. If I knew that I was being placed in a movie with such historical significance just because the director is having an inferiority complex, I would apologizing up and down and be actively seeking Shaw's forgiveness. And I mean that.

I think the general consensus here is that it wasn't his fault, but that's only recently come to light because of these quotes.

(Or, maybe he's heard all the bitching and lying about Lucas. )

JediRandy: They’re certainly beyond any repair you’re capable of making.

I'm not saying it's his responsibility to apologize. I said, if I knew this were happening implying that I was an actor (which we all know I'm not, so this is a purely hypothetical situation), I would be apologizing because I would feel absolutely horrible about this having happened. I would be furious with Lucas as well. But, as I've said before, I'm a SW purist. I want the originals the way I saw them in theaters. I don't like the additions. So, if it were me, I would be so utterly apologetic to the fans of SW for being a part of the changed history (even if I had no prior knowledge of it).

But again, that's just me.

Well, its not like he would say anything against Lucas this close after production and if he did they certainly wouldn't publish it.

The only quote from a person that spoke out against Lucas(albiet not directly) that I can think of off of my head is Anthony Daniels, and part of that quote is in my sig.
"I don't mind if you don't like my manners. I don't like them myself. They're pretty bad. I grieve over them during the long winter evenings."

I may get shot down for this, but I don't think the problem with the prequels is the plot.

If anything, I think the prequel plots are more intricate than the individual plots of the Original Trilogy. The problem lies in fewer likable characters, and the charaters that are there are... well... less likable, along with poor dialogue, which can produce poor acting even in good actors.

Think about it: does anybody watch A New Hope for the intricate subleties of the plot? No... we watch it because of the character interactions and the space battles.

I doubt he even knows who Sebastian Shaw is.

Inconsiderate doesn't mean stupid. Besides, didn't he just mention Shaw in that interview?

back on focus,

This explains a lot. If I had been him, I'd have sent it back a said, "Cool, but why do I look so creepy?" There you have it folks, the last scene of the Star Wars saga, officially revealed as a photoshop project. WTF

And a Photoshop project that any one of us could have done more effectively.

Lucas's treatment of this scene is inexcusable and cannot be justified.

We have Shaw's body with Hayden's head bobbing around on top of it. The Hayden footage could be from ROTS or it could be Hayden in the canteen. The point is Lucas cares so little for these films, the story and the fans that he does something so lazy and stupid.

It is bad enough how the younger ghost changes the redemption story we have all grown up with. But THIS??!!?

Lucas really is taking the piss.

Your inability to do so doesn't make it impossible for everyone else. I could have done it easily.
