Who should the villain(s) of the sequel trilogy be? (if the sequel trilogy has villains) — Page 2

Does anybody else think that they might not have Sith in the sequel trilogy so that people don't think of "unliiiiimited powaaaaaahhhhhhh!!!!!"?

I hope there aren't any Sith in the new films.

I'm sick of this Jedi vs. X (where X wants to destroy the Jedi) bullshit.

A picture is worth a thousand words. Post 102 is worth more.

I’m late to the party, but I think this is the best song. Enjoy!

Who else has wanted to destroy the Jedi?

I too am sick of Jedi vs. X.

I got a little idea.

How about some sort of war against a robot army, you know, technology either turns evil (no Force or Sith bullcrap though) or revolts against humans or something.

Did the EU ever use similar concepts?

I'm sure I'm not the first one to conceive an idea like this one.

In Tales of the Jedi, a Jedi recalls "The Great Droid Revolution", but never elaborates, and "Tales of the Bounty Hunters" tells a bizare story about IG-88 revolting, but I'm under the impression that that whole story is just an in-universe rumor.

Bad EU idea from the 90's Palpatine's Son.

Playing devil's advocate here, I have to say that the Jedi Prince series was only written to appeal to kids and wasn't meant to be taken as a serious addition to the Star Wars canon. It's only the diehard completists who came later who decided it that it had to be shoehorned into a continuity it didn't mesh with.

I could not agree more.

I am sick of the droid armies (and clones). So I don't want to see them.

Let's just hope the villains of the sequel trilogy aren't Kathleen Kennedy, J.J. Abrams, Lawrence Kasdan, and Walt Disney Pictures.

I vote for Palpatine having an apprentice who's not called a "Sith".

Droid armies are nothing new in Star Wars.

I don't see how it could be done in the new films without reminding people of the prequel battle droids though. Maybe if they were absolutely terrifying?

The use of droid armies seemed to have fallen out of favor by the OT, as the Empire didn't use them.

Where were you in '77?

I hate that the prequels made Palpatine a Sith. It takes away from the awesomeness of Palpatine as an individual.

IIRC, it's the emblem of a long dead evil despot, whose ancient treasure laden spacecraft certain characters are trying to find. I really need to reread the Daley books one of these days.

Xim the Despot is much more interesting than any Sith.

There are so many historical figures/events that come up/are mentioned in the EU that are leaps and bounds ahead of the Sith in the interest department, but they only get mentioned briefly or alluded to in vague comments or in articles while series after series focusing on the monotonous, two-dimensional Sith and their homogenous Sith Wars are churned out year after year.

I really can't help but to wonder at how the EU would have developed had the PT never been made. There certainly wouldn't be this one-track fixation on the Sith at any rate.

I agree. I'd love to learn about the Pius Dea crusades, the Alsakan conflicts, the Hutt Empire, etc.

Well at least fallen Jedi are fresh in the sense that they do not parasite on and pollute the OT characters like The Force Unleashed did.

How about more Space Asians?

So, a new book came out and we learned so much, and it is called, “Anguilosaurus, Killer of the Living”.

If the thing was set right after the ROTJ, the potential would be huge. There would be Empire collapsing and we would get a strong imperial remnant. No matter how unoriginal that may be it is by far the best enemy. Then there would be criminals who would have way more power in this chaotic transitional era than they would 30 years after when a stable republic is established.

I think fallen Jedi undermine Vader's redemption, no matter how unrealistic that may be.

I am certainly against anyone turning back from the dark side. I insist Vader being unique in that sense. But I don't mind Jedi falling to the dark side.

Are you talking about the Epicanthix? God, was that a stupid idea -- why don't they go and make Lando a member of a race known as the Steatopygians while they're at it?

I hate the Sith more than I hate Jar Jar, midis, the acting, or the dialogue.
