Who is the most annoying character in Each Trilogy? Excluding Jar Jar, Rose, and C-3PO.

First of all, I object to the title of this thread. Rose is not really “annoying”, she’s just boring and pointless. And anyone who says C-3PO is annoying has no soul. 😉

But to answer your question, I’d probably say the battle droids in the prequels. They’re clearly supposed to be funny, but they’re just not. The only moment when I genuinely laughed at them is when that one droid in TPM took 10 seconds to realize that Qui-Gon was the Jedi he was looking for. Other then that, they should deactivate their voice boxes permanently.

My preferred Skywalker Saga experience:
I II III IV V VI VII VIII IX

The Neimoidians, because their voices are really just this:

KrustyAsian

It was probably done more out of ignorance than malice, but it’s still awkward to have that in a movie with Watto and Jar-Jar (allegedly).

“But I was going into Tosche Station to pick up some power converters!”

I’ll leave it to someone who bothered to finish the ST to supply an appropriate Rey line.

“I bypassed the compressor!”

In all seriousness, these are my picks:

PT: Mace Windu (SLJ is a good actor, but he cannot pull off stoicism)
OT: The Ewoks (particularly Wickett)
ST: Poe Dameron (he should’ve died in TFA as planned)

PT: Padme. I hate overly idealistic characters in fiction.
OT: No one, really.
ST: Finn. He’s a total bufoon.

PT: Nute Gunray, I guess. Just because he’s basically the main villain of TPM and gets a lot of screentime and he just sucks, and not even in a fun way.

OT: I hate to say this, but if I had to choose, it’d be Chewie in Empire. Just cause his roaring starts to grate on you by the end of the movie.

ST: Maz Kanata. She’s supposed to be this venerable, wise character, but she never actually says anything of value, as far as I remember.

These are all good points, actually.

I think I might change my PT answer to Padme… Natalie Portman’s acting in RotS specifically was a whole new level of cringe…

PT: Jar Jar (no explanation required), C-3PO (great in the OT, an absolute mockery in the PT), R2-D2 (by the end of the PT, it has become so ridiculous that R2 is literally fighting and destroying super battle droids) (or, if you prefer, you can literally insert any number of random CGI cartoon characters’ names here: _____________)

OT: Ewoks (I like Yub Nub, and in theory, the idea of smaller-stature creatures assisting in the fight against Imperial troops could have worked, but they should have kept more to the large-scale traps and less of the softly hurled rocks weakly bouncing off of armored soldiers) – Wait a minute, I wasn’t even considering the “Special” editions (that’s not REAL Star Wars); if I did, then the “Jedi Rocks” band would easily win the award for most annoying.

ST: Rey Palpatine Skywalker “Everything you can do (I can do better)!”

C-3PO isn’t annoying, he’s lovable and funny.

I don’t agree with her being the most annoying, but Natalie absolutely phoned in ROTS. It makes me feel like she saw all the bad reviews for the previous two and just gave up.

Hayden was doing a better job then her in literally every scene (I actually think Hayden did a good job, any lapses in his performance are directing/writing issues). He should’ve gotten top billing since he was literally the main character.

Hayden Christensen clearly had no clue how to play Anakin in AotC, add given Lucas is notorious for not knowing how to work with actors, you have a recipe for disaster. In RotS he had a better grasp of Anakin as a character, and thus losened up and played the role far more naturally. Hayden is the kind of actor who needs guidance from directors.

PT: Anakin (an annoying person made more annoying because he’s the main character who we’re supposed to empathize with)

OT: There really isn’t anyone, but I guess since I have to say someone I’ll say Mon Mothma. I don’t really have anything against her, just her monotone voice is the only justification I could find to say anything bad about anyone in the originals.

ST: General Hux: He’s a joke. I was gonna say Kylo Ren, but there are parts of his character I do like; Hux is pretty much irredeemable.

She was just ahead of the curve, an ASMRtist 30-odd years before that was even a thing.

The Last Jedi version of Luke when he is acting like a kid and throws his lightsaber. Yeah he is redeemed from this later in the movie and it obviously is a hard rejection of the call to adventure, but it is pretty annoying and out of character for Luke without context for what happened after Return of the Jedi and Force Awakens. I’d just as soon he handed it back to Rey, as in either his powers have grown to the level where he doesn’t need a lightsaber like Yoda or he is now a pacifist monk who won’t wield a weapon. He cannot effectively take up arms to fight the first order because he is beyond it. He isn’t able to anymore but Rey can.

Anyone who dared speak ill of my supreme goddess Padmé will be punished for his insolence.

«No one is guilty of being born a slave. But the slave to whom not only aspirations for freedom are alien, but who justifies and paints his slavery in rosy colors, such a slave is a lackey and a brute who arouses a legitimate sense of indignation, disgust and repugnance.»

It’s alright, he won’t become a Master anyways.

I think George Lucas was in a hurry for certain performances of the actors, and to be honest, his script was horrible for Attack of the Clones.

Some of their performances were not on the actors, it was like their first or second take, and George said ok, we got it, let’s go, next scene. This was George Lucas’ money, and not a studios bank account. Had it been, we might have gotten better takes.

When Anakin is courting Padme on Naboo is just so cringe. Padme is marrying this guy who’s talking about sand, and kills Tusken women and children really? But he saved her life 10 years ago, so it’s ok.

He didn’t even save her life 10 years ago, though: that was added in fan edits. In the actual movie, her decoy was the one who bailed her out. So Padme has literally zero reason to fall in love with Ani.

He got her to Coruscant, otherwise, they would have been stuck on Tatooine.

He saved her people by winning that pod race.

Which would’ve ruined Padme’s hair, skin, and makeup. And by all the costume changes she makes throughout the trilogy, you know she’s a vainglorious girl.
