I'm not ignorant of the concept of Football. I just don't know the players. I would like to get to know it better, but I'm not sure where to start. Wanna help aculturemutate me, motti? I've always enjoyed soccer (sorry), but don't know a whole heap. We've got a local pro team in the Chicago Fire and they're pretty damned good, too.

i know the Fire... they were champs of the MLS once or twice, no? must admit they unfortunately dont show MLS here, they only show european football. id love to watch MLS.

i THINK that espn show some Champion's League matches... i remember i saw some when i was stateside. try and see which channels show it, and then just start watching, youll get the hang of it very quickly. but any questions you have, i would more than happy to answer them to you...

I've actually watched some eurofootball on the Spanish language channels here in the states. Easiest way to learn the language is to watch sports broadcasts. However, you might wind up like that Howard Cosell speaking guy from Better Off Dead. It is fun though. And I watch the World Cup matches when I can. I think the Fire have won either 2 or 3 times. I've got one of their jerseys.

I know some of the basic rules for euroFB, I just don't really know the teams and players (aside from Beckham - with his media oversaturation, who the hell doesn't know him?). Is there a league homepage I can go to and discover who's what?

that is the homepage of UEFA, i thinks it stands for United European Football Association. from there on there are links to all the Leagues in Europe. the site is in my opinion poorly made, but everything is there. i hope that helps.

I don't mind the Cowboys now that the Bastard Trio are gone (Aikman, Smith, Irvin). I dig on Quincy Carter. But for a while there, the Cowboys were the focus of my NFL ire.

I'm from Chicago, so I'm a Bears fan. Sad days these last couple of years. Great three seasons ago. Have a chance this coming year with an all new coaching staff.

Also dig on the Bucs, Lions, and Texans.

I can respect those choices. Pennington has the tendency to be great. And Favre... need I say more? The man is great. Anybody that says otherwise has their head up their ass. My wife and I were pulling for the Panthers unofficially. To be honest, we didn't really care because we're not fans of either team. But the underdogs always hold a special place in our hearts.
