Who Framed Roger Rabbit? - uncensored HDTV airing(s) (Released) — Page 9

Ok, so I have a high quality MKV put together with the uncensored video along with the English DTS audio track, a French DTS track that I found (the bluray has the french audio as ac3), and the German ac3 audio that's been synced to the video.

Any suggestions on how to make this thing available?  It's a 25gb file.

I see some Disney cartoons on there.

According to admin I spoke with Disney films are allowed if they aren't recent.  It's why I was able to get pre-approval for the ones I posted.

Upload rule 2 allows something commercially available: "- If a TV rip's content differs from that of its commercially-available release, the TV rip is allowed."

Rule 7 says: "NO recent DISNEY, or fox , or hbo, or big company w/ lawyers."

So it passes both those rules.  It shouldn't be a problem.

It's on the spleen.  Search for Roger Rabbit 1080p.

(I'm not sure if I'm supposed to post the link here.)

Thanks Space Kaijuu!

I'm sure posting the link is not a good thing.

But everyone here should know what to do i'm sure.

Okay, I am finally "back in business" so to speak. I can get at my LD collection again! I captured the "Rigid Tools" shot at normal and 1/30 speed. CAV still rules. ;)

Point me to where I can upload the vob files if you want them. It's less than a minute of video for the shot in question.

Sendspace and dropbox seem to be popular options. If you want to pm me the link after it's uploaded, that would be good.

Two things.

First, and I didn't see this mentioned elsewhere, the spot on the paper towel is actually on the DVD as well.

Second, what was the final method for repair of this?  From my reading it sounds like it was a straight up frame replacement.  Isn't there too much of a difference in quality?

Is it full shots being replaced or just single frames?  Has anyone considered some sort of rotoscoping/painting-in of the missing bits?

I did frame-by-frame restoration. I used the French HDTV footage to restore the parts of the frames that were censored on the US Blu-Ray.  It wasn't a full  frame replacement.

I think the towel blot was on the laserdisc and first release of the DVD.  It was removed for the second release of the DVD and the Blu-ray.

Thanks to Silverwook, I have the frames from Trail Mix-Up with the uncensored Rigid Tools poster.  I'm over half done restoring the poster into the blu ray footage.

Thanks for the info.  I'm sure I just missed it when I read it before.

Glad Rigid Tools is getting fixed too.

Really need to get a BD burner soon.

I have been following this project with great interest. I have one quick question: I see that Space Kaijuu uploaded a version before the talk of restoring the Rigid Tools poster came up. Will a new version be replacing the original upload eventually?

Many thanks to everyone's hard work.

The Rigid Tools poster is part of one of the short films featuring Roger Rabbit and not the original movie.  I'm over 2/3 done restoring the Rigid Tools poster in the short film but it's taking longer than I'd like.  The holidays and other commitments have been getting in the way.

Take your time. At least, the job will be well done.

I am having a hell of a time getting this converted to burn on a Blu. Any suggestions out there?

I believe I used ClownBD or just TS Muxer, I'm not sure. If I used ClownBD, I think I compressed the soundtrack to 640kbps AC3 to fit on a BD25.

You could try BD-Rebuilder.  If it's compliant it can build a BD, if it isn't it can re-encode.

Registered almost solely to obtain this file, if anyone can provide a torrent. Saw this on VHS when I was a kid, and kept hoping the uncensored version would turn up. Almost was ready to hunt for a used Laserdisc player.

I'll seed the hell out of it if someone can provide and end 20 years of searching.

Hello to everybody, I'm Ency from Italy.

Roger Rabbit is my favourite film since 1988.

I have just bought a copy from USA the LDs of "the uncensored" Roger Rabbit (I got also an UK print) and now I found that an HD version was aired in France?! wow. Amazing. Maybe a first transfer of the film before the blu-ray "recut" edition.

Well.

May I ask you something?
First of all I can't get the "Space Kaijuu" edition because I don't have a "myspleen" account. But I have the restored frames and the french version.
Is there another way to get that version?

Do you know if the USA Bluray combo is STILL with the FULL SCREEN edition of the film? I would like to have also the Full screen version, so if I buy now this combo pack from AMAZON I'm sure to get the "wrong" version?

Do you know if the PAL LD of "It's Roger Rabbit" has the poster uncensored (that LD was included with the PAL film, and I really don't know about that).

I'm pretty sure about a different line on the bathroom in Toontown. I recall this very well. That was a joke on a 5555 number or something like that if I remember well.
I have a very old first issue italian Full Screen PAL tape, maybe is that there? Or that was on some RR children books? I bought them all in those days!
I had also a pirated version of the film in 1988 on tape, letterbox, very bad quality but uncensored, I will check also there, if you want.

Or, by the way, on IMDB I have read this:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0096438/alternateversions

Several brief scenes were cut after the initial release:
1 - The gorilla picking up Eddie by the lapels after the line "Who are you calling a chump, chimp!
2 - The beginning of Roger's reaction as the weasels cross the road to Eddie's office
3 - A brief dialogue exchange between Eddie and Smartass while Roger is hiding in the sink

The 3 sequences were included in full in "Roger Rabbit and the secrets of Toontown" (also dubbed in Italian Language).

then

"Some versions, including the television version shown on FOX and CBS, have an extra scene:  (...) the pig-head sequence This deleted scene is included as a special feature on the DVD. "

Well, the pig-head sequence in the DVD and in the Blu-ray is CUT (the missing part is in black and white!). I was wondering if someone recorded this FOX or CBS airing with the full sequence (and maybe something more!).

Please let me know,

Thank you!

Ency.

PS: Sorry for my really bad english.
