1) Read the other thread again.  Where did I complain about you derailing the thread?  Quote me.

RedFive claimed that and suggested it would be best to "ignore" me, and you supported him and joined in.
While it was obvious to anyone with half a brain who actually started the derailment.

Whether you deemed it necessary to repeat what he said, like "oh yea, he's derailing this thread, just for the record I've said that, too" honestly doesn't matter, and hiding behind that is yet another case of your dishonesty and hypocrisy.

2) Where did I claim I have disorders that are the cause of my behavior?  Again, quote me.

Well then why were you offended by an (innocent) mention of Aspeger's earlier on, claiming to have some kind of baggage in the area?

At any rate, this was just a jab. You're obviously just being thick, but hey, thanks for confirming it.
And where's your "ignore" function now, hm? :p

I've said it earlier, and I'm saying it now. Quit jumping into threads and trolling my posts.
Not so much because it annoys me, or aggravates me, and is basically a form of harassment (while arguing with someone's opinion on a discussion forum is not), but because it turns you into a self-righteos, disingenuous laughing stock with no leg to stand on writing about "sensible posting", starting polls on "who's the problem", or complaining in any way about someone's argumentative behavior.

Wherever I may have overdone it by being too assertive or pompous in some debate, you're DOING IT WORSE.
And a bit of self-relection never harmed anyone.

I know it's really, really frustrating, and I myself am having a helluva time not pointing out his awfulness and arguing my points against him, but just ignore him, Frink!  Otherwise it'll never end!

And I don't want to have to stab you with an ice pick!!!!

RedFive still can't admit his mistake in the other thread, and wants to play pretend instead.
Whom is he trying to fool here?

This is so sad and pathetic, it's hard to put in words.
In case anyone is rolling their eyes at the derailment of this thread - you can blame these two jokers for that, and the evidence is in the thread history.

Well...there are two other Batman threads if this one is derailed ;-)

twooffour, all I did in the Spoiler thread was agree that it is best to ignore you and then took a (deserved) shot at your attitude.  If you can find a quote from me in that thread that shows I said you were derailing the thread, post it.  Otherwise, stop putting words in my mouth.

Also, someone as "intelligent" as you should know that the term "ignore" doesn't have to refer to the forum ignore function.

Lastly, and not that this is any of your business, I don't have Asperger's or autism or anything like that.  Nor did I claim to.  But that doesn't mean that there haven't been issues in my family that would cause me to be offended by your using Asperger's as an insult.

If I'm wrong - fucking quote me.  Still waiting for that.

You think you know everything but sometimes you don't know shit.  And for putting "disorders" in quotes - fuck you.  Again.

And with that, I go back to trying to ignore all your bullshit.

You're just repeating yourself, and I've already replied to this. Quit prancing around.

Even if you didn't actually support the derailment accusation by joining in, tell me what I did wrong in that thread that made you bring it up there again.

RedFive claimed I was talking out of my ass without having read the linked article, and I only got as vitriolic about it as the situation deserved.
It's a justified reaction and has nothing to do with "attitude".
Tossing a false accusation and then acting as if you did no wrong, however...

Also, someone as "intelligent" as you should know that the term "ignore" doesn't have to refer to the forum ignore function.

But only the forum function can be referred to as something that can be "Done.".

But that doesn't mean that there haven't been issues in my family that would cause me to be offended by your using Asperger's as an insult.

Fair enough, but I've already explained to you that I did NOT use it an insult, and there was nothing to be offended by.
You can either read and comprehend, or act thick about it.

You think you know everything but sometimes you don't know shit.

And what do I know in this case?

I go back to trying to ignore all your bullshit.

But not anyone else's bullshit, like RedFive's, who as the only one full of bullshit in that thread? And you actually supported him?

And that after telling me I don't know shit. You can't even look at a few posts of thread history before deciding who to pick on, and you're telling me to know better.

Really, just laughable.

So I saw this earlier in the thread but I can't remember who said it - why does The Keaton (can't believe I used that) fail as Bruce Wayne because he's too short?  Is his height something from the comic book world that defines his character or is important in some way?

Truth be told I never even noticed.  I loved him as both Bruce and Batman.

The only person I really didn't like as Batman was Clooney, only because he was so recognizable at the time.

And to be honest, I'm not really a fan of Bale's Batvoice.  But I do like him.

I never paid the hype much heed.

I haven't done that since Return Of The Jedi.

So I viewed his performance as a performance (I wasn't really that aware of Ledger's career, certainly less so than Jack Nicholson and there was a scenery chewing performance and in my book the only bit of that film worth watching).

The Joker is a star turn but Ledger's had a much more believable vibe to it for me.

He is insane, anarchy is his bag just as justice is Batman's.

You didn't need an origin or a resolution, he just explodes on the scene, creates maximum mayhem and practically allows himself to be caught when he thinks he's made his point.

Sadly Ledger is dead so he can't do it some more.

Sadly they killed Harvey (Batman's main gallery villains should never be killed, they should always be placed back in Arkham or in prison) as Two Face could have carried a film all on his own.

Burton made the same mistake.

I thought Dark Knight was a gripping thriller if perhaps a bit too long but I would have saved the barge scene for a separate Two Face movie (it's more his MO) than the Joker's.

Batman should be a looming overwhelming shape.

Not a rubber dummy wobbling from a hole in the ground.

*shrug*

Never bothered me.  Like I said, never even noticed.

Maybe my problem is that I'm not really that into Batman in general, and I like the two Burton films because they are more Burton than Batman.

Actions to one side which is more visually threatening Darth Vader or Lord Dark Helmet?

Keaton didn't really "look" like a Bruce Wayne or Batman. But once into the film, you realize "hey, how do I know what Bruce would look like?" You accept Keaton as this crazy 80's billionaire.

The beginning of the first film was designed to hide Batman and if you closely it hides the extreme limitations of the suit until about halfway through because by then the viewer is accustomed to this Batman. Returns improved on the suit designs and Keaton had become accustomed to moving in it so he flows better as Batman. This would be the best looking live action Batman, but I think the first Batsuit and Kilmer in Forever nails it. (Sans nipples of course!) In this category though, TAS is definitive as always. Perfect balance between gadgetry, realism, style, coloring and brings in all of the different looks (Original 39, 40's, 50's, 60's 70's and with a touch of 80's).

Batman Forever is my favorite Batman film. And I hate it.

But, it has the song Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me by U2 on the soundtrack and I really like that song. And that's one more thing than I like about any of the other Batmans.

OMG YES! That song is one of the best things they have ever done imo. It shouldn't have been left off Zooropa. I bought the CD single as a 5 year old. And I would have killed for a whole album of ironic hard material like it. Still can't believe they played this on the 360 tour! Twas awesome!

TIE: Mask of the Phantasm/Batman

Close 2nd. The Dark Knight.

TDK would be higher, if not for one to many repetitions of the "not the hero with think we need to deserve, but the hero we deserve to think we need" monologues.

To this day I've never seen the end of Batman and Robin. I walked out of the theater when Poison Ivy took out a talking plant in a pot or something that just was to damn lame. I flirted with the snack bar girl because my ride stayed in the theater, and actually scored a date, so it was worth it.

I know this won't be a popular opinion, but...

Is it possible that Ledger's performance is overrated due to the timing of this death?  I say yes.

I think some of the hype surrounding a performance was very very very good can be attributed to that. But I don't think to any great deal.

Its a tie between batman mask of the phantasm and batman begins, for me personally.  Though i like the dark knight, if not the grunting of batman.

Not to mention Kevin Conroy has the perfect voice for Batman. You can hear Adam West in there, but he is pissed off and on steroids.

Probably either.  Arkham Asylum is probably the closest you'll get to a thing that sort of looks like a movie and feels like the Animated Series.

Does the 360's game of the year edition have the levels where you play as the Joker, or is that still PS3 exclusive? Maybe I should get it for the PS3 just so I have something to play on it.

No, the GotY has some extra challenge levels (that I didn't really play) and the Joker remained a PS3 exclusive.  I would have liked to have played the Joker bit, but I understand it's maybe 30 minutes or so.

I had to work on a tool at work known as the "DistMe" tool, which distributes stuff.  After I worked on it, it's official title became the "Dist Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me Tool".

This has been on my mind for some time, so I'll just say it and get it over with.

The Nolanverse Scarecrow sucks.

The Scarecrow is one of Batman's best villains in the comics/animated series, a truly fucked up psycho with a messed up past. In BB and TDK he's reduced to nothing more than a third tier villain with a burlap sack on his head. He doesn't even get a decent costume.

Glad to have that off your chest?

Funny thing is, I think this thread has turned into confession.  "Forgive me, father, for I don't like an aspect of the Nolan Batman series."

Well, DuracellEnergizer, all is forgiven.  Go in peace.
