I took my user name from the 7th guy I killed, and 'Davnes' was written on the waistband of his panties.

My user-name comes from an idea I had when I was younger. I was really into comics (particularly Green Lantern) and wallace and gromit, and I created my own character that was sort of somewhere inbetween the two. The backstory of the character was that Hal Jordan (or who ever was green lantern at that time) died and gave his power-ring to the penguin from 'The Wrong Trousers'. The penguin decided to become a good guy and became the 'Green-Penguin!!!'

Later I made the penguin Mexican, so that it could wear a sombrero and a poncho, hence the 'O' at the end of 'GreenPenguino'

Later still, when I created a youtube account, I decided to use the name I had created as my account name, and I've been using it ever since.

my name is a reference to the widescreen process used by toho for the godzilla films and later akira kurasowa films (the hidden fortress being the first)

I quite literally typed in the first thing that popped into my head. This was my very first forum, and I didn't quite know how they worked at the time. As I was registering there was a blank for Nickname, and I assumed that it was just a goofy little bit of extra info, and I would get to choose my screen name later (not sure why I thought that). So when I first looked down at the nickname box, my first thought was:


"THEY CALL ME NANNER SPLIT"

Kept it ever since.

I invented mine. I was tired of having dumb usernames that someone else came up with and repurposing them for my own use, so I sat down and poured over a few name lists and came up with some good potentials. One of them was Phanax, which was neat, but missing something. So I took part of the name of the most awesome dinosaur ever and the name of a Norse god and stuck it on the front.

Hence Tyrphanax.

People say it sounds like a decongestant nasal spray. It does. Oh well.
