What's the situation with Lucas saying he "forgot" to insert Temuerra Morrison's voice into the OT?

I heard it mentioned a while back that Lucas said in an interview, that for the 2004 DVDs, he simply forgot to overdub the stormtrooppers in the OT with Temuerra Morridon's voice and would do it for the final versions. Does anyone have any information on this or a link to the article about it?

Geez, I hope not. It makes him look like an idiot for two reasons: one, that he'd want to do that in the first place, and two, that he'd be dumb enough to forget to do it. Even if I was a fan of changes and special editions, I'd be getting pretty pissed at George that each time he goes back and changes things, he never seems to do a decent job with it. And his mantra is, "Oh, well, I'll just get it right next time." It just makes him seem like a hack. And that's how his empire continues to thrive, because people will continue to go back and say, "Ooh, he's gotten it better than before. Good for him! I'll shell out $50 for it!"

Sorry, Adam, I don't have the link you're looking for, so I guess this was a useless post, but I just had to get that off my chest.

WTF????
If that happens i'm going to burn the first store with a DVD package of it down!!
If he really is going to do this the OT would almost be bigger then it already is (not the O-OT, i'm talking about the SE).
This does even make less sense then Greedo shooting first or the CG Jabba scene.
About burning the store down, want to join me and burn all stores that offer it down

It might work. I for one think it would be cool and a nice way to tie the two trilogies together. Yeah, there are those who say "Well, the stormtroopers are cloned from a different person." But, as close as Vader was to Fett, he could have cloned him, or one of the last of the clonetroopers..

I think he's already gone on record saying in the OT, not all of the stormtroopers are clones, and certainly aren't all based off of Jango, given that he died some 25 years earlier. Given that the clones age at twice the rate, Jango's clones would be creaking around.

Unless they're making copies of copies, which could explain why OT stormtroopers aren't all that sharp compared to PT clonetroopers.

Plus, George actually is a fan of TROOPS. And we know those troopers weren't clones.

I still don't see where you're getting that Vader and Boba are old college pals. From what I've seen, they have little more than a working relationship. Boba Fett just happened to be smart enough to track Han, and he's cool enough to not take crap from Vader. The movies never point them out to be any closer than that. In fact, the prequels point out well enough that Boba Fett really wouldn't trust Force users all that much.

According to Battlefront II, there was an uprising on Kamino, and the new stormtroopers are made from several different hosts. Basically it was an excuse to have Stormtroopers fight Clone Troopers. I don't put too much stock in it.

Though I hate the idea that all stormies are clones to begin with. It baically turns the Galactic Civil War into the Galactic Revolution.

It's considered the canon explanation, unless Lucas changes his films.

lucas says some are clones and some are shangaied men. i liked the EU explanation better that alot of people wanted to fight as stormtroopers because they were patriots. luke wanted to join the empire too

I doubt the Rebellion had a training academy ("And if the new droids do work out, I wanna transmit my application for the Academy this year!").

Besides, Lucas wanting to dub the Stormtroopers with Tem Morrison must be a legend. The new line, "There's no one here!" is proof that George Lucas has been looking at these scenes. If he wanted to add Temuerra's voice and forgot it while supervising the alternation of these scenes, he would have been too stupid to even walk.
"The things that stick in my mind and make me laugh were, like, memos worried about whether or not the Wookie should have pants. They're looking at this thing and saying, "Couldn't he have some lederhosen?" This is great. Of all the things to worry about, the Wookie has no pants." -Mark Hamill

If you saw the deleted Biggs scenes you know he didn't want to join the Empire but the Rebellion.

Yeah, but, like olzen said, he still wanted to join the Imperial Academy. It's where all his friends went. Even without the deleted scenes, we know that Luke wanted to join the rebellion ("You know of the rebellion against the Empire?!" "It's not like I like the Empire, I hate it!"), but that's where his friends were, and that scene with Biggs, who was also in the Imperial Academy, just helped plant the idea in his head that he, like Biggs, could defect and fight with the Rebels.

Don't forget the grandpappy of EU, the original Zahn trilogy. The re-emergence of clones factors significantly into this story line. The principle characters were shocked at seeing clones at the helm of the old star destroyer. It wouldn't be such a shock if we had plenty of disenfranchised clones already hanging around the universe holding "will work for food" and "disabled vet" signs.

Methodology changed somewhere along the way. The spartii cloning cylinders could produce full-grown clones in months, not years.

I haven't read the novels in over a decade but I remember this quite well, and I actually put more stock in Zahn's stories than the "official canon" of the PT. Ain't that a kick in the teeth?

i think most fans can agree on things. i dont mind the SEs too much just wish he would put the OOT out as well, and there are elments that worked in the pt, not enough to make them great though

The academy was not for Imperial recruits. It was training for a merchant marine kind of civilian service. Biggs had signed on as first mate of a ship called the Rand Ecliptic. In the shooting script, (and probably the cut scene) Biggs had a line about jumping ship to join the alliance *before* the Empire could draft him.

Yep! That line was in one of the deleted scenes! It proves that Lucas planned to have that be the case.

Yeah, I can picture the stormtroopers putting pizza slices on their wallets and saying "Hi Steve!" to everyone.
“Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.” — Nazi Reich Marshal Hermann Goering

Just think, if he replaces the OT stormtroopers with Tem's voice then he would have to replace Boba Fett's voice with Tem's voice also because Boba was a clone too. Imagine how many people THAT would piss off.
If only I'd been born in the Republic.

LOL!

Well, if he does replace them, by his own admission, he would only replace certain ones with TM's voice. The only stormtroopers in ANH that are supposed to have his voice are the members of the 501st.
