What would be better than a proper release of the OOT? — Page 4

Oh, skyjedi's post made me think of my own answer for this question which I believe is within the parameters!

MORE WISHES!

No wait...

MORE SQUEAKY CHAIR!

No, that's not it either...

Prequel Redos (that I like).  That would be better than a proper release of the OOT.  Adywan and the like can restore the OOT well enough, but the PT... man that is a mess.  If we got a remake, that was awesome... well, then it WOULD BE AWESOME! (by definition)

IT'S MY TRILOGY, AND I WANT IT NOW!

"[George Lucas] rebooted the franchise in 1997 without telling anyone." -skyjedi2005

"Yeah, well, George says a lot of things..." a young 1997 xhonzi on RASSM

"They're my movies." -George Lucas. 19 people won oscars for their work on Star Wars (1977) and George Lucas wasn't one of them.

Yes; I would love to see totally fanmade prequels, based on fan-written stories about the fall of the Old Republic, using seventies-style models and techniques that would match the OOT.  That would be better than a remake of the OOT.

The term 'fanmade' brings on an involuntary shudder...  But I guess, since Lucas is not a fan, I do want a Prequel Trilogy written and created by a fan or fans.  Just not at the 'backyard, lo-fi, no sense of style or taste' level.  And I guess most of the fan films I have seen have been in poorer (were it possible) imitation of the Prequels, so it's possible I would like a decent fan film... should such a thing ever exist.

The Empire Strikes Backyard and Twoness (Duality a prerequisit) are definitely high quality though.

I was thinking of fans who would invest the sort of time, skill and effort that Adywan and Darth Editous put into their productions, but yes some fan films do bring on a shudder.  The Hunt for Gollum is really good.

I shall watch the other two you listed.  I have not seen them.

Damn you two, you're bringing a serious Star Wars discussion into my ridiculous hypothetical joke thread.

Seeing as you are now the Ice Cream Man, Frink, and at the present moment, not having had a dessert, a Strawberry ice cream would be better than a proper release of the OOT.  Only, I do not want any of those sprinkles on the top, and it would have to be soy ice cream, as I am lactose intolerant, and I want a proper wafer, not a cornet.

Some other well made (non Star Wars) stuff by fans and amateurs that is worth taking a look at, are the fan trailer "Grayson" and the student film series on youtube "Italian Spiderman".

a) I'm not the ice cream man anymore, as my fun has been spoilt.  I just haven't got around to changing my title yet.

b) You'd rather have a Strawberry ice cream than a proper OOT?  That's just silly...

c) ...but then I read your list of demands, and getting what you want seems pretty unlikely, so I'll sign off on your demands.

d) You're lactose intolerant?  As a former ice cream man, you have my sympathies.

I have no patience for lactose. And I won't stand for it.

Before this goes any further, I do adore those two fan films to death, but they are spoofs AND of low quality, but I believe the first fact outweighs the 2nd.  As films, they are low quality.  As spoofs, they are top notch, but to appreciate the silly Twoness you really do have to put yourself through the Uber-Pretentious Duality first.

Thanks, FF!  I am not a Spiderman fan, but I shall look into "Grayson".

Duly noted!  I shall take them as they are meant.  Thanks, xhonzi!

Thanks, Frink!  I can never find precisely the right degree of silliness.  Yes; I am lactose intolerant, so no real ice cream for me... :-(

Sorry, didn't read through the whole thread so just in response to the 1st post (and keeping to all your rulles about no cash, no cancer cure and stuff):

What I always wanted appart from the OOT was my own professionally equipped cinema big enough to have at least 10m wide screen and to fit in all my friends and familly to have film viewing parties.

But I'd take the OOT over anything of a simmilar kind (other film release stuff) provided it was an exact perfect replication of the original negatives of all three films as they looked on the day of release with all the different theatrically presented soundmixes struck uncompressed from the original mastertapes.

And it better be an OT only set with the awesomest coverart and packaging ever and like three bonus discs for each film...

Preferably a set on some format of the future in uncopressed 4K picture (provided I had the equipment to play it)...
